IVAN:

This feeling of unease won't just leave me. It was making it difficult for me to concentrate, my gut kept telling me something was wrong somewhere.

This intuition never fails me, its my sixth sense. I double checked every file before I signed. Made sure I had not miss an important meeting. Even after making sure all was right it still didn't feel right.

The intercom buzzed "Yes"

"Ivan have--" Bernice spoke.

"What happened?" Was this it?

"Nothing, are you alright?"

"I'm fine" I huffed. Heavens please show me what was wrong "You were saying?"

"yes, I was asking if you've gotten the sample of the new body wash" worry still in her voice.

"Yes I got it about ten minutes ago"

"What do you think?"

"I just got it Benny, I didn't exactly go into the bathroom and use it " I laughed.

"Alright! Just take some with you for Rufi, all four ok? I want her opinion on this too"

"Yes Missy"

"Mrs" she corrected.

"Alright Mrs McKay" I laughed as I dropped the phone.

Bernice got married the last week of November to her long time boyfriend Seth McKay.

The unease came back and I don't know why but I called Rufi. After calling the third time and she still didn't answer the phone my unease grew to full blown panic.

"There's no reason to worry" I told my self in an attempt to calm down. I called Maria.

"Ivan?" She picked on the second ring

"Where is Rufi" I asked going to the point

"She's at home, what happened?"

"I've been calling her, she's not answering" I said taking a deep breath.

"She's not answering?" Maria said lost "let me call her"

"You are not home?!" I cried. Heavens please

"No, I went to the bank"

I raced to my car praying to God that this once my guts be wrong. The first alarm bell went off when I turned the knob and the door opened. Everyone around here locked their door whether they are around or not.

"Rufi?" I called as I entered and came to a halt when I saw blood on the floor.

"Rufi!" I screamed and no one replied. I ran across the living room and stopped when a familiar lilac card caught my attention.

"Mother" I whispered with dread. How possible?

I raced into the room she shared with Maria and saw the bed empty and unmade. I swung open the adjourning bathroom and there Rufi lay on the floor with blood on the floor

"Rufi" I bent over her "Rufi? Baby please look at me" she didn't budge. I felt for her pulse and sagged in relieve when I felt it.

"Stay with me babe, please" I pleaded as I carried her out.

Maria bursted into the living room as I got there. "What happened?!"

She opened the door with trembling hands for me to carry Rufi out. "My mother" was all I could say to answer her question.
