Song for the chapter if walls could talk-Celine Dion

RUFI:

Today is my birthday. Today I'm eighteen. Wow!

My alarm blared Happy birthday by 6:00

"Good morning birthday girl" I told myself yawing. I had slept alone last night after Ana-Blaire demanded Maria to sleep in her room.

Yawning I crawl out of bed and went into the bathroom to wee and brush my teeth. Then I made my way to the kitchen for a glass of water.

I had to pass through the living room to get to the kitchen.
I opened the living room door and there stood Ivan holding high a cardboard saying;

feliz cumpleaños decimoctavo mi amor!

Happy eighteenth birthday my love!

"Rufi!" Maria called making me jump, that's when I realised I'd been dreaming. I smiled. Different scenes of my birthday usually features in my dream.

"Its ten minutes to seven ruf" Maria said still standing by the door.

"What!" I jumped out of bed and raced into the bathroom.

IVAN:

Nana and Callie left for Mexico last night.

"I've given mother enough time to cool off" she had said "its time to uncover the truth" she had given me that determined smile of hers. "Besides Christmas is next week bro, we being here will incapacitate you"

"¿Que?"

"Christmas alone with your girlfriend or with your old Nana and little Sister in the mix" her eyes danced with mischief.

"Nana!" I said going red

"Hun?"

"Nothing" I shook my head in disbelieve.

When Nana and Callie found out about Ana-Blaire they didn't freak out even without knowing the story behind her birth. Callie only had a concerned look on for me. I then checked with Rufi if it was alright to tell them and she told me to.

The moment Nana knew the whole story she went 'mama bear' on Rufi and Ana-Blaire.

One funny incident happened at work one morning, about a month ago Rufi was coming from God knows where and bumped into one of the admin staff. According to Nana the woman made Rufi cry so she rushed over slapped her and demanded she be fired. She didn't need to repeat it twice. No one makes Rufi cry.

Waking up to an empty house this morning felt strange. Not waking to the 'ting tings that's not my name' or 'lion king's the circle of life' that thanks to Callie blares across the house once it was six am.

I think I was subconsciously waiting for one of those songs to wake me and I slept on until I remembered Callie was gone and she took her songs with her. I missed my little sister.

I took record time to clean up and by 8:10 I was ready for work.

I met my gardener on my way to the garage.

"Good morning Mr Martinez" he smiled sweetly.

I did a double take. Let somebody shout hallelujah! Since when did my gardener greet me with a smile?
