"What? No, I can't... It's not on my schedule," I said with a little giggle. I didn't know why I was all of a sudden all giddy inside."You can get a schedule change. Isn't there an elective you don't want?" Mr. Shu asked me getting to his feet, coming closer to me as Mike took his seat.

"I mean... yeah. But that's the only time I get to see my brother," I said a little quieter."It's PE," I added.

Mr. Shu leaned up against the wall thinking. "Anything else?" he asked.

"I guess I don't really care for Robotics," I admitted. "But either way. I can't sing" I said with a little laughter.

"Yeah right. You were amazing," the boy who was sat at the drum kit complimented me.

"Thanks, but I don't know. I can't dance either," I said.

"Well. I can easily teach you," Mr. Shu spoke.

"Look. Give me time. I'm sorry for interrupting your practice. I'll get going," I said quickly, getting up to grab my bag off the seat I was sat in. "And thanks Mike" I added, quickly walking out of the classroom and into the empty hallway. I closed the door and took a seat next to the door. I leant up against the wall sucking in a deep breath and exhaling. I closed my eyes and slipped down the wall. I've never been asked to sing before, and I had really bad stage fright. I suddenly remembered Andy and I reached down to my back pocket for my phone. It wasn't there and for a moment I had a small panic attack. It must have fallen out of my pocket when I was in the choir room. I started to get up but I froze in mid-step when the class door swung open. It was Mike. He held my phone that had a green and black phone case on it. He closed the door behind him and noticed me on the floor.

"You... um left this," he said looking down at me awkwardly.

"Heh. Yeah. Sorry about that," I said lifting myself up off the ground to grab the phone in Mike's hand.

"No issue," he said as my hand reached for my phone. It vibrated as if on que as soon as my hand touched it. Mike looked down at the screen as a message popped up with Andy's name on it asking where I was. "Is that a boyfriend?" Mike wondered, it was so awkward between us at the moment and I didn't even know why.

"Ha. That's funny. No that's my brother looking for me," I typed in my password and texted him back quickly.

I'll be there in a few

"Well. You have an amazing voice. It's really powerful," he said with a small smile on his face.

"Thanks... I wouldn't of had the balls to do that if it were just me up there," I giggled. He chuckled shoving his hands into his jacket pockets.

"Yeah... well. You did great" he said. Why was he being so nice. Aren't jocks suppose to be assholes? He actually seemed really nice and kinda geeky, which was cute.

"C'mon. I'll walk you to your brother," Mike patted my shoulder, walking over to me walking out through the front doors."So where did you move from?" he asked holding the door open for me.

"Indiana. But I've been all over the states though," I said biting my lip not knowing what to say after that.

"How come?" he wondered, actually seeming to show some interest in my life.

"My Dad works here and there. He's a freelancer," I replied, feeling proud of my father. He was almost always home for us kids and even with our mom gone he managed to raise two great children.

"Cool. Sounds like he's got it all together. What about your mom?" Mike asked as we made our way to the parking lot.

"She... she um died when I was seven," I admitted. It hurt, but it was awhile ago. She was who taught me to play piano.
