After school I couldn't even make eye contact with anyone in the car. Dad picked us up and gave us a good reason to walk together. Andy, Mike, and I walked side by side as we made our way to the car. Our dad seemed a little better then he had in the morning and Rusty was in the back seat, basically attacking me when I got in next to Andy. Mike sat up front with our dad and Andy was too busy on his phone to notice. He usually wasn't the type to be on his phone all that much, but now he seemed to be intrigued in something he was reading and then flashed a quick smile as he quickly typed something back.

I couldn't see who he was talking to because Rusty was lathering my face in kisses, but I knew he was talking to someone. "Ugh! Rust!" I gasped, holding him back as I held him close and nuzzled my slobbery face into his neck, attempting to wipe the wetness off my face. He was panting and had calmed down by the time we made it to the highway.

"So how was work today Daddio?" I asked, running my fingers through Rusty's fur. He smiled at me through the rear view mirror which has been adjusted so many times it's not even funny anymore. "I've had a good day. How have you lots days been so far?" he redirected his focus to the road.

"I had a decent day" I spoke first. "Mine was good" Mike replied. Andy remained silent, still tapping away at his phone.

"Bro!" I yelled. He finally looked up at me. "Yeah? What's up?" He asked ,a little confused and dazed once he realized all eyes were on him.

"Dad asked how your day was? Who the hell are you talking to?" I asked, a sinking finding its way to my lips. I didn't find it clingy to want to know who my brother has been so fixated on.

"Oh... Nobody, really. My day was good, Dad" he answered, going back to his phone and hitting send, then taking a break to read over what he'd written in his phone. I still couldn't see who the caller ID was.

I gave up halfway to the house and sang along to the radio until Mike had to be dropped off. Once we arrived at his house, Dad drive us out to eat for once and we all took the food home and ate there.

Andy didn't pick his phone up during dinner but had finished his food before Dad and I and went right back to his phone. I was definitely curious now as to who this was. I knew Andy didn't really care about me knowing such personal things about him but he has always been fine with that, until now. Now he wanted his privacy, which, I had to admit was okay. So, I respected him. Only, I was too curious in that moment.

I did dishes and did the usual chores such as taking the trash out and feeding the dog. Once I was washed up, I said my goodnight to my dad because I knew I wasn't going to leave my room for the rest of the night unless I got parched.

I ran up to my room with Rusty on my heels and he made it to my room before I could where he went straight for my bed. I smiled and closed my door, immediately going for my music before going online to search for a job.

I scavenged the internet for a while but none of them struck me as interesting. I found a decent opening at Starbucks, one for a dog walker, one for pizza delivery, and one as a target cashier and the rest didn't seem all up my ally.

Why couldn't there have been an internship for Hot Topics or something?

I clicked on the Starbucks internship first and its age requirement was sixteen. Barely eligible in my case. They had online applications so I filled one out and sent it to them. Then, I clicked on the dog walking business and saw it was from between the ages fourteen to forty. I filled out another online paper and shipped it to the email provided.

I didn't even try to apply for Target or Pizza because I really did not have a car to be a delivery girl and I didn't really like Target all that much, being a cashier, it unnerved me.
