"Mike... we shouldn't be in here," I whispered as he led me up some flights of stairs.

"It's fine. No one comes up here anyways," he said as if stating the obvious. I followed him as he opened another door. He led me all the way up to the roof before stopping to hold the door open for me. The sun was being covered my some clouds, with a slight breeze making the air, crisp and chilly.

"Mike... how do you know about this?" I asked turning to look at Mike.

"I get a lot of alone time. Sometimes I don't even go to class when I'm up here," he began. "It allows me to think. And I think a lot," he admitted. I heard the click of the door shut behind Mike, as he released it.

"It's beautiful. Thank you," I smiled sweetly before turning back to the view. I walked over to the edge looking down at the ground. We must have been thirty feet up. I could touch the flag if I wanted to which remain in the front lawn of the school.

"Mike?" I asked still looking out over the trees.

"Yeah?" he answered. I didn't need to turn around to know he was looking at me.

"Why'd you bring me here?" I asked, folding my arms over my chest feeling a little chilly.

"I don't know..." he replied honestly.

"I guess," he trailed off. "I just trust you."

I turned around to face him. I looked up into his eyes, his hands were in his jean pockets and his shoulders were slumped down at his sides. I chewed at the inside of my lip. I just stared at him, examining his facial features. His skin was bronze, his hair and eyes were the same jet black color and his hair was growing a little long near the back.

Then somehow we became only two feet away from each other. My breath hitched in my throat as I took a step forward, involuntarily. Then the bell rang, causing me to jump backwards."I-" I stuttered. "I guess we should get to class," I smiled, trying to take the pressure off my chest and the sudden awkwardness out the air.

"Y-Yeah," he admitted, turning to get to the door. He turned the handle but it didn't open. He gasped looking down at me. "It won't open," his eyes were widened.

"What?!" I began to freak out.

"I'm just kidding," he laughed, pulling the door open with ease a second time.

"You jerk!" I pushed his shoulder aside, making my way down the stairs. He walked right next to me as we made our way to Glee.

There, I saw a kid in a wheelchair, only two cheerleaders, Puck, Rachel, Tina, the heavyset girl, and that boy who was sat at the drums the day before, now he was sat next to one of the cheerleaders who looked a little ill.

I looked around hesitantly for Mr. Shu but he was nowhere in sight. All teachers come into class late. I walked over to where Tina was sat talking to the kid in the wheelchair.

"Hey, Autumn," Tina greeted me. Mike sat down in the seat behind me and Tina as he joined us.

"Hey," I replied, resting my bag down on the floor.

"Hi. I'm Artie," the kid with glasses lifted his hand up to shake mine.

"Hey. I'm Autumn," I introduced myself with a friendly smile lingering on my lips. Soon enough everyone began to chat. I stayed quiet as they were talking about Sectionals and I couldn't understand what that meant. So I didn't really know what they were talking about.

Soon enough the bell rang and class began. Mr. Shu stepped into the room and the class got quieter. "Hello Class," he greeted like he had something else on his mind. A couple of 'hey's and 'hello's were said within the crowd. "Wheres Brittney?" he asked, seemingly irritated.

"This morning she fell down the stairs and she was sent home because she broke her wrist," Quinn said from over by Rachel. I bit the inside of my lip before speaking.

"Yeah... that jerk that slusheed me this morning pushed her," I commented.

"Well... I guess Autumn, that means we'll need you more than we thought we would," Mr. Shu said acceptingly. I smiled slightly looking around the room in hope some of my anxiety would simmer.

"So, this week, instead of giving you a topic or a story to convey. I want you all to combine No Scrubs by TLC and Torn by Natalie Imbruglia together creating a love, hate song with a partner," Mr. Shu began to hand out two pieces of paper. Immediately everyone began looking around the room with a smile.

"Ah. Not that easy. I will let fate decide who you work with," he said walking over to the desk in the corner of the room and pulled out an old bucket filled with sticks.

"Rachel. Would you like to start us off?" Mr. Shu asked, walking back over to the piano setting the bucket down on top. She smiled and confidently pulled out a name. "Finn," her smile faded as she made eye contact with Quinn. She laid the stick down on the piano and walked back to her seat.

"Puck," Mr. Shu addressed. He came up and pulled out a stick.

"Quinn," he said looking over at her. We all had our turns.

Rachel with Finn. Puck was with Quinn. Mercedes was with Kurt. Artie and Santana. Tina was with me, and Mike got Matt.

Then we were allowed to work. "I love these kinda mix's. It's always so cool to play around with the sounds and the feelings," Tina smiled, pulling me across the room with two chairs over to the side.

By the end of the class, we had some ideas. We were gonna keep the beat of TLC's No Scrubs but sing Torn. Tina, Mercedes, Mike, and myself were the only people who were some of the best when it comes to powerful belting voices.

"So, you and Mike. You guys seem to be getting real close," Tina elbowed me on the side. I looked over at Tina and then passed her to Mike who was too focused on laughing with Matt to notice me staring.

"It's not like that. We're just becoming good friends," I smiled.

"It always starts off that way," she said shoving her papers into her backpack."But in the end. Someone in that friendship starts to have stronger feelings."

If only you knew.

Then the bell rang.

Tina hurried out of the classroom, walking to her next class but it took me a little while to collect my things. I sighed, struggling to get to my feet with all the papers and the pens I was using to sketch on the side of my paper when I was bored. I began to slip the papers into a binder and threw my pens into my hoodie pocket. Before I knew it everyone began to walk past me to get to their next class.

"Let me help you," it was Mike who extended his hand out for me to take.

"Thanks," I said to him before hauling myself up. I tugged the hem of my sweatshirt down over my butt and slung my book bag over my shoulder. "What's your next class?" I asked out of curiosity.

"I have a free period today," he said walking down the hallway with me.

"Lucky. I have stupid Algebra," I groaned quietly. "I'm failing that class already. I have a D in Mr. Matthews class and I've only been there for one day," I said getting tired of the school already.

"If you need any help I could help you. I'm in Trigonometry. I'm already taking collage courses. I could help whenever you need it," he said looking over at me.

"Thanks. I might actually take you up on that offer," I giggled, stopping before I entered my class. "Bye Mike," I waved happily.

"Bye Autumn," he smiled before walking away.

This is kinda short now. I'm sorry. I'm kinda all over the place. I'm going to sleep at 7am and falling asleep at noon. Idk, anymore. I hope you guys are enjoying the series. I love y'all!
