We walked a while which took over an hour. Mike walked me home before walking himself home. "You know what. Text me your address and Andy and I will take you to and from school," I smiled, knowing I could be helpful.
"Wow, thank you but that's too much to ask from you. I'll just take the-" I cut him off.
"Don't you dare say the bus. It's the least I can do. At least since you did take me out for a movie," I smiled.
His eyes... his eyes had a glow to them in my streetlights that just made him look even happier. "Please. I like to help people," I said before giving him a hug. "And thank you for the amazing night," I kissed his cheek, making my heart flutter. His skin was smooth and warm against the cold air of Ohio and for a second I thought I had gotten too comfortable and that would make him drawback and think I was reading too much into it.
But then he smiled. "Goodnight Autumn," he said as I turned to walk up to my front door.
"Goodnight Mike," I smiled before turning back to my door. I bit my lip containing a squeal. I opened my front door as I heard Mikes's footsteps fade into the distance. Once I was inside I walked up the stairs and back into my room. I sighed and threw my hair up into a less messy bun before crashing face-first into my bed.
Before falling asleep I quickly checked the time.
3:42! Holy shit! I've got a two-hour nap before I need to be up for school.
I sighed and fell asleep as soon as my head hit my pillow.
The next morning my alarm came way earlier than I thought. I groaned and violently pushed my snooze button. I just was gonna skip a shower that morning, I'd take one when I got home. I took a fifteen-minute nap and my alarm went off again. I hit 'stop' and trudged out of bed.
I was too lazy and tired for any cute clothes so I slipped on my black sweatpants and a long-sleeved shirt that said 'bookworm' on the front. I took my hair out of the bun and let my loose curls fall down my shoulders. I combed through them making my hair fuzzy.
I groaned and redid my messy bun. I blinked hard, yawning a little too dramatically. I took my phone off the charger and slipped it into my side pocket. I yawned again before walking, well... more like trudged, down the stairs and into the kitchen where Andy was preparing for his protein shake.
"Damn Autumn. You look beautiful," Andy said sarcastically.
I smiled snarkily. "Love you too," I quickly shot back, making myself a cup of coffee with our dad's coffeemaker.
"Jeez. Rough night?" he questioned, throwing in some sliced-up banana into the blender.
"No. I just...." I stopped myself. I knew if I told Andy about my late night going out with Mike, he'd think I had feelings for him and I didn't need him worrying about things like that. "I had a lot of homework," I lied.
I made myself a cup and Andy made himself a cup of his disgusting shake. I poured my coffee into a travel cup with some sugar and creamer before walking upstairs again to grab my bag. I walked back downstairs and looked at the time. We had fifteen minutes before we would normally leave. I clutched my coffee in my left hand before going over to Andy who was still in the kitchen.
"Can I have the keys?" I asked. He gave me a questioning look before pulling them out of his pocket.
"Why? You driving?" he asked, filling his cup up with water before placing it in the sink.
"Yeah, grab your shoes," I said tugging mine on.
"It's too early," he said stating the obvious before trailing behind me, standing at the foot of the stairs. That was the funny thing about us, even though we didn't know what the other was planning, we just went along with it anyways.
