"That was scary as hell" I whispered, rubbing the dogs belly affectionately to calm my nerves. Mike scratched the back of his head with a stifled giggle.
Mike's hair looked so good wet, like it was begging to have fingers ran through it.
"You can shower in a little while. She'll be leaving again soon. My dad has a business trip and my mom said she was gonna go back to the office because she left some papers there that she needs to review for the morning" Mike explained. I nodded my head, understanding each word that left Mike's lips. I directed my attention back to my dog.
"Rusty" I said out loud. Mike sat down on his bed, looking over at the dog and I."What?".
"I think I want to name him Rusty" I admitted, tearing my eyes off of my dog that was now named Rusty, to look at Mike. He smiled."It fits" he said, leaning back to stare up at the ceiling. Rusty was now sitting by my side, panting rhythmically with a smug look on his face.
A few moments were filled with silence. Steady breathing could be heard and I seemed to lose myself in my thoughts."I cant believe Andy was with that rapist from the party... did I even mean anything to him? Its like he didn't care, like they were friends" I said hoping Mike was listening.
"What?" Mike sat up straight. We exchanged confused looks before I could explain myself.
"Andy's drug dealer.... it was the guy from the party" I told Mike, watching as something flickered across his face. He was utterly silent and just stared at me in disbelief.
"That dick. Im gonna kill him" Mike said getting to his feet, gritting his teeth. I shot up and took Mike by the arm, stopping him from leaving. He sighed."Thats fucked up" he replied angrily, staring down at me, causing me go deep into a trance, staring back into those brown eyes. I blinked harshly, looking away as I let go of his arm. I turned towards Rusty and watched as he slowly fell asleep.
"It might be fucked up, but he's my brother... he must hate me so much he doesn't even care anymore" I sighed, picking up the clothes Mike laid out for me."I don't really want to talk about it anymore" I said getting up and twisting the knob to Mike's bedroom.
I made it to the bathroom without interruptions. There was a fresh towel set on the towel rack and I closed the door behind me. I turned the water on, stripping of my clothes, folding them in a messy stack on the sink. I sighed and looked myself in the mirror. My eyes weren't red anymore but they were puffy, and there were purple rings around my eyes that made my face look so drained of everything from color to happiness. I sighed, staring back at myself, all worn down and broken.
I stepped into the shower, feeling the steaming water run off my skin. I stood in the shower for a few minutes taking in the warmth of the water and the steam filling my senses. I lathered Mikes shampoo through my hair and took only a small decent amount of conditioner since this isn't my house, I couldn't use the glop I normally use. I didn't want to use that much of Mikes conditioner, leaving him with a hunk load of shampoo. The struggles of being a girl.
I washed my body throughly before I heard the bathroom door open. It was Mikes voice yelling as he opened it cautiously."Its just me" he said at first. I pulled the shower curtain back revealing nothing but my head to Mike who picked up my dirty clothes from the sink."Im just gonna wash your clothes" Mike added, nearly walking out of the the bathroom before I spoke up.
"You don't have to" I replied as he simply smiled. "Im doing mine anyways" he called back, before walking out and leaving me with a smile on my face. I shook my head with blushed smirk on my face and went back to washing out Mike's conditioner that smelt of sandalwood and his body wash that smelt of a mixture between mint and cotton.
