🙋🏻 - Abid's POV
🗓️ - October 20, 2022---
As I continued to stare at her, I couldn't help but notice the discomfort written on her face. Yet, I couldn't resist the urge to look at her. After all, my heart had been searching for her for so many years.
What's wrong with me, dammit?!
I forced myself to avert my gaze, trying to shake off the confusion overwhelming me. My feelings were a jumbled mess, making it impossible to think straight. Despite my efforts, my eyes found their way back to her, catching her as she ascended the stairs. Her anxiety was palpable, etched clearly on her face. Why was she behaving like this? She couldn't possibly still have feelings for me. Or could she?
The mere thought sent my heart racing, my mind spinning with possibilities. Could there still be a chance that she felt the same? The idea both thrilled and terrified me.
I scanned the room in search of Dad, hoping his presence might ground me, but he was nowhere to be found. I tried to focus on anything else—the murmured conversations, the clinking of glasses—but my thoughts kept drifting back to her, to the way she looked at me, to the past we shared.
Memories of our time together flooded my mind, each one bringing a fresh wave of emotions. Her laughter, the way her eyes sparkled when she was happy, the way she fit perfectly in my arms—it all felt so vivid, so close. And yet, there was also the pain, the betrayal, the heartache that had driven us apart. The push and pull of these conflicting emotions was tearing me apart.
Why is she behaving like this?
Why is she making me confused?I wondered again and again, trying to find a loophole. It was as if she was as conflicted as I was, her actions betraying a vulnerability I hadn't expected. My mind raced with questions and doubts, each one only adding to the chaos inside me.
At that moment, I realized I needed answers. I needed to understand why fate had brought us back together in such a twisted way.
With these thoughts running through my mind, I settled into a chair beside a round table, trying to make sense of the whirlwind of emotions. My thoughts were abruptly interrupted when I overheard two men engaged in a disgusting conversation.
"She is looking too hot today," one of them said, his tone laced with lewdness.
"Yeah, bro, hot and sexy," the other one replied, both of them laughing in a way that made my skin crawl.
"Do you think she's single?" the first man asked.
"Does it matter if she's single or not? You just want her in your bed," the second man replied, snickering.
"Yeah, that's true. But she's so hot, I don't think one night would be enough," the first man continued, their laughter echoing in my ears like nails on a chalkboard.
I felt a surge of anger rising within me. How dare they talk about her like that?
"The first time I saw her at that party, she was wearing a red dress. And today, again, in that damn red. Her neckline, her back, and her rosy lips... oh, I could hardly control myself, the first man said, his words dripping with sleaze.
