"Nerd." Poke. Alec groans and puts his head on my shoulder still poking my side.
"Nerd."
"Baby." He mumbles. That's the cutest thing I've ever seen.

"Baby." He says it louder this time.
"Sweetheart."
"Honey."
"Pumpkin."
"Baby cakes."
"Never call me that. Ever." I reply.
"SHE SPEAKS!" He screams throwing his hands in the air.
"Do you need something?"
"Yes."
"What do you need?"
"A life. Food. Love. Oxygen. Air. Pizza. Puppies. Kittens. Water."
"I'm gonna punch you." I say, flipping the page in my book.
"Seriously. I'm tired." He says, laying his head on my lap and securing his arms around my waist. "Can I sleep here?"
"Sure." I say and kiss his forehead. He smiles and his eyes flutter shut.
We were currently sitting on the couch in the living room of my house. Bexley and Jax took the twins to the park because it's starting to get too cold for them to go outside. I'm extremely surprised Jax left Alec and I here alone. Halloween is in a few days and I'm not really looking forward to it. My mom died November first. When I was seven months old. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.
"Baby. Are you ok?" Alec mumbles his eyes opening just a crack.
"Yeah. I'm fine. Go back to sleep." I tell him. He shakes his head, sitting up.
He runs a hand through his hair before speaking. "I don't wanna sleep if your upset."

I laugh and kiss his cheek. "I told you, I'm fine."
"Ok. Well, I know when a girl says she's fine she's not." He says resting his head on mine. "I'm smart."
"Yeah, ok."
"You're mean." He says.
"You like me anyway." I smile up at him. He shakes his head, smiling.
"Yeah yeah." He says. His phone beeps and he picks it up. "I'm allowed to take Via out of the hospital today and she wants to see you. Will you come with me to pick her?"
