(it will always be in Zola's POV unless I say otherwise)

It's been about a week since the anniversary of my mom's death. It was a hard day for all of us. Although with everything that happened at Alec's it wasn't as bad as it normally is.

The M twins don't understand. They don't know. All they know is that it's a sad day and something bad happened that day. They don't ever ask question, they just cuddle with Jax or I.

I was knocked out of my thoughts by a the door bell ringing. I was sitting closest to the door so I got up to get it.

It was just Jax, Bexley and I at the house right now. The M twins were at Bexley's parents. I got home from school not too long ago.

I open the front door and to say I'm shocked at who it was would be the understatement of the century.

It's my father.

"D-Dad?" I stutter. There are already tears in my eyes. Dad looks a lot different then I remember. Of course it's been over a decade, but still. It's a good change though. It's obvious he's shaved and his hair is styled. He's wearing jeans and a button-up grey shirt.

"Zola. You've grown up so much." He has tears in his eyes.

"Well, it has been eleven years." I spit.

He looks down. "I deserved that. Is your brother here?"

"Jax! Come here!" I call, not taking my eyes from the man I haven't seen in what feels like forever.

"Who is it, Z- Dad?" Jax comes into Dad's vision. Dad's eyes light up when he sees Jax. "What are you doing here?"

"I, umm, I came here to talk." I look up at Jax. He kisses my head and nods to Dad, motioning for him to come inside. Jax leads Dad into the living room and I follow. Jax sits next to Bexley, who's asleep on the couch, I sit in the recliner, and Dad sits on the love seat.

"I want you to listen to me. I don't expect you to forgive me, just listen." Dad starts, rubbing his hands together. Jax and I both nod.

"I'm sorry. I really really am. I know it's probably too late, but you both deserve it. Jax, you had to raise your sister since she was a year old. You've always been more of a father to her than I am. You were thirteen and caring for a child. Zola, you didn't have a father for most of your life. Your brother put you to bed every night and took you to school. Your brother signed permission slips. I've been terrible to both of you. I thought that when your mom died, I was the only one hurting. I didn't understand that you were both hurt too. I was selfish. And I'm so so so sorry. I love you both so much."

"I-I love you too Dad." Jax says, getting up to hug him.

"I love you, Daddy." I hug them both.

"But, Dad, what about Ember?" Jax says. Ember was our step-mom. Dad married her a few months after mom passed.

"I divorced her. I sold our house in Arizona and I'm going to rehab here." Dad says.

Good.

"That's great Dad." Jax says.

Dad's about to reply but the sound of the doorbell interrupts him.

"I'll get it." I say. I go to the door and open it.

"Hi, baby." Alec says.

"Hi." I say. "Come in."

We walk to the living room.

"And who might this be?" Dad asks, standing up and looking at Alec.

"Dad, this is my boyfriend, Alec. Alec, this is my dad, Thomas." I introduce them.

"Boyfriend, huh?" Dad says, shaking Alec's hand.

"Yeah." I mumble, grabbing Alec's hand.

"I never approved." Dad says. I glare at him. "I kid, I kid. It's nice to meet you, son."

"It's nice to meet you too, sir." Alec says.

"Call me Thomas." Dad says.

"Bexley and I have been trying to get him to call us by our names since we met him. He still calls us Mr. and Mrs." Jax points out to Dad.

"If you call me Mr. Thompson or sir ever again, I will rip out your spine." Dad says.

"Ok. Well now I know where Nerd got her violent behavior from." Alec says.

"Nerd?" Dad asks, looking very mad that he called me Nerd.

"It's just a nickname." I glare at Alec. "One that he won't stop calling me no matter how many times I tell him to stop."

"Ah, ok." Dad says.
