Eleven and Twelve

Chapter 15: Home

El's PoV:

     I woke up with a start. The room was white and I was in a bed.

     My arm had wires in it. Oh. I was in the lab.

     I looked around. When I turned my head to the left I saw Mike on another bed next to me.

     He too had wires in his arm. But he also had something on his mouth. His fingertips were still blue.

     "El, you're awake." Dr. Wolfe said walking in.

     I nodded my head. My throat hurt a lot from screaming.

     "How are you doing?"

     "I'm. I'm okay."

     "I bet you're wondering why Mike isn't awake."

     I nodded my head again.

     "He seems to have over used his powers and it affected his body a lot more than you. He will be fine but he won't wake up for a few days or so."

     "Can I see my friends?"

     "Of course, I'll send them in two at a time."

     Joyce and Will came in first.

     "How are you dear?" Joyce said as she walked in.

     "I'm doing okay."

     "I'm glad you're both safe." Will added.

     We talked for a while. After they left, Nancy and Jonathan came in. Then Dustin and Lucas. Max came in alone. And the last person was Jim.

     "Hey kiddo."

     "Hey."

     "How are you doing?"

     I shrugged my shoulders.

     "Do you need anything?"

     "Mike..." I whispered. A tear forming in my eye.

     "I'm sorry kid, he'll wake up soon." He patted my leg as he sat down.

     All of the sudden we hear the steady beat of Mike's heart monitor start to speed up.

     Jim got up immediately and rushed over to Mike. He started to shudder and then he gasped.

     "Wh-where am I?!" He started panicking.

     "Mike, Mike it's me Jim! You're okay. Your in the lab."

      He relaxed.

     "El. El? El! Where is she?!"

     "Mike I'm right here."

     He looked over at me and started crying. It made me cry.

     I got up and took off the wires. I ran over to Mike and embraced him.

      "Mike it's okay. We're home. We did it."

      He was trembling. 

     "Oh Mike you're awake. I didn't expect you to wake up this soon."

     He just looked at him.

     "I'll let you two rest. Tomorrow I will come in and ask some questions."

     We both nodded our heads.

     He left the room.

     "I'll leave you two alone too." Jim said and left the room as well.

     After they left I hugged Mike again.

     "We did it Mike. We can go home now." I started to tear up.

     "El."

     I looked at him.

     "Hm-"

     He kissed me. I melted into it instantly.

     "We're safe now, we'll go home and we can live a normal life. And we can get married when we're older." Mike promised.

     I smiled at him.

     "I love you."

     "I love you too El."

     We fell asleep in Mike's bed that night.

Mike's PoV:

     The next morning, me and El woke up to a doctor coming in with food.

     "Dr. Wolfe will come in soon."

     I nodded my head.

     We sat in bed and ate our food for a while before Wolfe came in.

     "Good morning kids, how are you feeling?"

     "We're doing fine." I said.

     "I have a few questions to ask you two."

     We nodded our heads.

     "Did you kill it?"

     "Yes," I said.

     "How did you kill it?"

     "We set it on fire and used our powers on it."

     "Okay good. You two will be able to leave later today. After today, nobody will ever discuss this ever again."

     "I have one question." El said.

     "Shoot."

     "How come we were able to get through the gate? I closed it."

     "That is a question I cannot answer."

     She looked down.

     "Can I see my family?" I said to Wolfe.

     "Of course. Let's get you both changed and I'll take you to go see them."

     Wolfe pulled out the clothes that we both wore when he kidnapped us.

     "Here, put these on."

     After we put our clothes on we left the room to go see our friends and family.

     "Mike!" My mom said as she ran towards me, Nancy not too far behind.

     We hugged, cried, and talked for hours.

El's PoV:

     A couple of hours after we talked to everyone. It was time to go home.

     When we got home, I ran straight to the basement and on my bed.

     I could hear Mike's footsteps not too far behind me.

     He crashed on top of me on my bed and we started laughing.

     "Mike we did it!" I giggled.

     "Haha now we can relax!" He smiled at me and kissed my forehead.

     Then he kissed me. This one was different though. It wasn't playful. It was more focused.

     He moved his hand low on my back, and his other behind my head.

     He laid me down on the bed and put his face on my neck.

     "Mike..."

     "I know, I feel it too."

     "Too much."

     "Okay."

     He got off of me and laid down next to me.

     "That feeling. It was weird." I said looking at him.

     "Yeah, weird." He said looking at the ceiling.

     "El."

     Before he could say anything else, I was fast asleep.
