Now onto the Chapter...

Chapter 27: Lexi's POV:

I walked the busy streets until the late hours of the day. Instead of going somewhere I was running from something. I couldn't go back home and face my cheating mother who has been lying to her family for over a year now. I also couldn't face my kind clueless father who had no clue about his wife's cheating ways.

I walked around with no destination in my mind. I walked for hours just aimlessly. From an outsiders point of view I would have seemed like a real-life zombie, only I wasn't after brains I was after peace.

As the day became night and the moon was out on full display did I stop my walking and look, truly look at my surroundings. I was standing in the front of a double story house. With light streaming on from a few windows of the house. I noticed this house even though I was here only a few times. I was standing in front of Chase's House.

Having a mental argument with none other than myself I decided that while I'm here I may as well say hi. I also missed his mother and his little siblings. It feels like forever since I bumped into them while I was at the mal. I was a different person then. A better one?, I still don't know.

I slowly walk to the front door, still unsure of whether I should say hi or not. I end up reaching the door before I finalise my decision. I nervously knock and once again contemplate running away. Before I can run the door opens to reveal a slightly startled Beverly with an apron tied around her waist and a pair of kitchen hot pads on her hands.

"Hi, I am so sorry to intrude, I'll just leave..umm...yea I am so very sorry" I mumble out not even sure that what I said made any sense.

"oh no honey, you weren't intruding at all, we were just about to sit down for dinner, would you like to join us? I made extra" As soon as Beverly brings up food my stomach does a million somersaults as I remember I have not eaten anything since yesterday.

"If it isn't a problem," I say nervously for some reason.

"No problem at all" and with that Beverly ushers me into the house talking about how things are and questioning me in a polite manner about school and my family. It brings an aching feeling to my heart to even think about my family but I know she doesn't know that so I simply say things are good and brush away from the topic as soon as possible without making it extremely obvious.

Beverly takes me to the dining room and tells me to take a seat. As I go to sit down a small little figure comes running up to me and attaches themselves to me. It takes me a few minutes to register who it is and then when I do I lift them up into my arms and give Lucy a big cuddle which she returns.

"Oh Lexi, I have missed you so so so so much, why haven't you come to visit, you promised you would," she says slightly sadly which tears at my heartstrings.

"I have missed you heaps as well, and that's why I'm here, I've come to visit you" She looks up at me and breaks into the world biggest grin reaching from ear to ear.

"you came to visit me, not Chase?" she asks which I reply with a simple "yes, but don't tell Chase cause he might get a bit grumpy and a grumpy Chase is not fun to be around" After I say this Lucy erupts into a fit of Giggles which I add to as I tickle her belly. I the Place her down as I see Beverly enter the kitchen with one arm holding Daniel while the other one holds a bowl of salad. I rush over and help her by grabbing Daniel out of her hands and placing him in his highchair, all the while he has a cheeky little grin on his face which is a replica of Chase's.

Beverly brings in the rest of the food while I am dragged by Lucy to take a seat in the seat next to her. She is babbling away about everything and anything. Once Beverly takes a seat she looks around the table and a frown adorned her face. She quickly gets up and makes her way to the stairs. Once she screams out Chase telling him its dinner time do I realise that he isn't here yet.

Beverly, being too tired to wait for Chase, tells us to dive into the food which I do after I help Lucy to fill her plate and cut up her chicken strips.

I hear the sounds of footsteps getting closer so I look up to be greeted by a very shirtless and very hot Chase. He is wearing just a pair of sweatpants hanging extremely almost dangerously low. His hair is a mess and he is rubbing his eyes which tells me he just rolled out of bed. When he is done rubbing his eyes he walks over the seat in front of me and takes a seat almost as if he has no clue of my presence. He begins serving himself some food looking like a Zombie that walked right out of the walking dead.

Beverly coughs making him look up from his food which he is quickly devouring. She looks at him with raised eyebrows and tilts her head in my direction making him turn his gaze from his mother to me. When he finally notices me, he almost freaks out, his eyebrows raise so high that I'm afraid they will come flying off and hit the ceiling, his eyes also almost fall right off his head as he stares straight at me.

"Holy F***!!!" he screams "How long have you been here?"
