Chapter Fifty Four

waking up next to me wife in this nice big clean bed no children arguing among one another just past the closed door. it felt good to hear the sound of my own thoughts which you never get in hear in my line of work or home life for that matter.

Wordy thought to himself as he got up from bed and turn over to greet his wife to find that Veronica was already up out of bed and gone somewhere Wordy did not know where.

walking into the bathroom Wordy cleaned himself up and brushed his teeth got dressed then walked right into his wife.

''hey babe where were you ?'' I asked my wife studying her face

''I just stepped out to call my mom and let her know to pass by the Doctor office and get those stiches removed of Alice lower leg.'' Veronica explained to me and I totally forgot that it was time to get those stiches removed.

''ok then I am hungry lets go get some thing to eat'' I told my wife and we both walked out of the door and made our way down to the lobby and passed a big room where they had a breakfast buffet and table and chairs.

pilling up my plate with food I sat down and soon enough my wife joined me and we started to eat our brunch In peace and quite.

grandpa Rick pulled up to the dinner and everyone got out of the truck and I tired to walk next to my brother John but he moved away from me.

''come on Johnny boy I said I was sorry'' I told my brother but he just held the door open for every one and did not talk to me at all. walking towards the booth I sat by the window and turned my back as every one pilled in and took there seats.

grabbing the menu I moved it so I would not see anybody else but the window that I was staring out of. I did not even hear when my name was being called out

''Alice what do you want to eat ?'' I hear grandma ask me but I was not really paying attention

''no thank you I am good '' I told her still not looking at the rest of my family I was tired

''order something or else I will order for you and then you will sit there and eat the whole thing and not get up until you finish your plate am I understood young lady.'' I hear my Grandpa tell me getting just loud enough to make his point across and not draw attention of the other people in the dinner.

''I said no thank you '' I repeated my self again even know I know I was already on thin ice with Grandpa Rick but at this point I did not care. I was mad that John was mad at me for no good reason because I did not set fire to the food on purpose and I don't even know what his problem is because I wanted to go to his baseball game and now he was being a dick about stuff.

''ok have it your way little lady she will have a grilled cheese with fries and an apple juice please .'' I herd Grandpa Jack tell the lady who was taking our orders. then I went back to looking out of the window until I felt the some one take the menu and put it down on top of the table.

''come with my now child.'' I herd Grandpa tell me and I turned to see that Stacy and John already got up and stood next to the table. so I had no choice to get up and follow grandpa and the way he held onto my arm meant that he was not playing any games.

walking us into the family bathroom and locking the door behind him Grandpa Rick let go of me and stayed blocking the only exit out of the bathroom.

''what Is going on with you child and don't try and lie to me because I am not in the mood you also must forgot that your parents gave us permission to discipline you guys. and I know that my son would not be happy if I give him a bad report about you guys. you remember what he will do if that happened child?''

my Grandfather asked me knowing full well the answer to that question but he still wants me to answer him which I did.

''he will spank me again for embarrassing him with my bad behavior.'' I told him really wanting to get out of the bathroom.

''ok kid tell me what is going on with you right now '' my Grandpa asked me again and I just shook my head side to side not wanting to answer any of his questions. I did not have the problem it was John that had the problem why was I being punished for him being a dick.

''ok that is enough kid'' I herd my Grandfather tell me as he took off his belt in one swift motion and folded up the belt and grabbed both of my wrist in his big arm and sent the belt crashing down on my ass he gave me ten licks with the belt quick fast and dirty.

''ow'' I cried out moving towards the other side of the bathroom rubbing my but while I cried some more grandpa put back his belt and pinched the bridge of his nose and did a couple of deep breathing techquies like the ones mom taught me.

''ok lets try this again kid tell me what is going with you right now'' grandpa asked me trying to remain calm and I had a felling that If I did not tell him what was going on that he would not let me out of the bathroom.

''I don't know why John is being a dick I did not mean to let the pot holder catch on fire and burn the breakfast. and he said that I always make everything about me and that was not my plan this morning it was to make breakfast for every one because yesterday was not a good day for me.

I kept going answering him and he seem to losing up a little bit

''I just don't know what happened I know it was bad and It could have gotten worse and I know that one of the reason that daddy always wants me near him. but also I don't think that daddy and Johnny boy trust me to be alone. because they are afraid that I will hurt my self and that is not true all the time and I really did not do this on purpose I swear it true.''

I explained to my grandfather tears coming down my cheeks I was really tired of everything this morning.

''beside I woke up happy I want to still go to John baseball game and see him play even thought he is still mad at me and I don't know why I tried to talk to him but he is not paying attention to me and that hurts my felling.''

I told grandpa sitting on the toilet seat I did not want to talk any more I was tired and I was don't with everything.

''ok child lets go eat and figure the rest after'' grandpa told me I got up from where I was sitting on and he came and grabbed my arm and pulled me in for a hug. rubbing my back to help calm me down the same way that daddy does when I am in one of my moods and cant control what I am felling.

grandpa un locked the door and we both walked out of the bathroom and saw that the food was already on the table as we got closer.

''it was going to be a long day today'' Alice thought to her self as they made there way to where the other where still at.
