"Myths which are believed intend to become true."
                                                                     - George Orwell

Eons ago, when men made earth their abode, there lived two hermit sisters, Karma and Helen, in a small cottage near the forest, in peace and solidarity.

One night, on the full moon, Karma was in the forest, picking the moonflowers when a huge wolf leapt out of  the deep recess of the forest and sank its teeth into her arm.

Fainting from the blood loss, Karma was found, injured and dying a day later by the townspeople and her  sister. She was brought back to the cottage where her sister was able to nurse her back to health. A few days later, Karma, noticed something queer. Her skin, where the wolf had bitten her, had healed  completely, all except for a small scar.

A fortnight later on a full moon, as the two sisters were picking the healing moonflowers, a change began to take place. Karma's back bent as her body began to change and her bones broke. She felt nothing but excruciating pain and hunger as her her teeth elongated into fangs and her limbs turned to claws.  Helen screamed once she saw that a wolf had taken over her sister. Snarling, the wolf leapt at Helen and bit Helen.

As the sun arose, Karma returned to herself, finding herself as nude as a newborn babe, with no memories at off of what had surpassed. Perplexed at the blood around her, she returned to the cottage to search for her sister, but her sister was nowhere to be found.

Back in the forest, Helen's wound began to fester. The bite had quite an opposite effect on her.  She could sense and see everything. She could not even become unconscious and was forced to suffer as her body  changed and her organs began to collapse, not accepting the change. She was dying.

At this time, the Lord of Darkness came and offered to ease her pain on the condition that she had to forever serve him to repay the debt.

He could not change her back to human but he could make her half human, half wolf, to shift as she pleased. He could give her life in return for servitude.

Desperate and in pain, Helen agreed.  And the Lord of Darkness, healed her.

But he was treacherous and he injected evil into her, an evil that slowly took root in her and began to grow. And that was how the long line of werewolves began.

Helen became the hellhound and the transition took away her capacity for love or empathy.

On the other hand, Karma who had turned other people, began to regain memories and formed a pack of these adolescant wolves to protect them, when she realized the truth.

At this time, the Hunters, a group of holy men, became aware of the presence of the wolf people who they  considered as 'UnHoly' and abhominations and began to kill them.

A war was waged.  Karma, who was leading the defense, bravely fought to protect her brethen and in defending a young male wolf, she was incapicated. For her heroic act, the God took mercy on her and made her the Mother of the Wolves.

She was now Karma, the Decider of her children's fate.

Centuries later, Karma and the Hellhound, now two very different individuals, avoided each other's  path for it was best for them to not interfere in what the other did.

One sister had chosen the path of God and the other had been forced down the path of Evil.

Then, one day, the hell hound was cursed forever by a powerful witch to lead a lonely miserable life, never ending, alone.  Helen died but her spirit was reincarnated every half a century, and a woman had to suffer and lead a wretched, evil existence for another half.

Karma felt pity for her sister. For no matter how evil she might be, they were still blood.

So she used all her power to alter the curse laid upon her sister and give her a soul mate, who would share her burden and bring her comfort. But magic always came with a price.

A young girl, who had been chosen to host the spirit of  hellhound met a mate and within a year, gave birth to a beautiful daughter.  But the curse was cruel and it had eventually came to collect its prize.

The woman was forced to abandon her mate, her pack and her daughter. And the pain of losing her dear ones was a burden no woman could ever bear without being broken. But hell was waiting for her. And so she had left with a heavy heart.

But the moment, the little child who had been abandoned in the meadow opened her eyes and began to cry the  fate of the world and the tides of battle between good and evil , had changed forever.
