Why is it that every time I run away from him I find myself in a sticky situation?

I was running  through the forest when I heard it. It was a tiny sound but I heard it due to my enhanced hearing. I paused, listening hard. It came again. A faint squeak.

I looked around. Even though it was dark, I could see everything clearly. And when I looked down and saw it by my feet, I screamed loudly and scampered back as fast as I could and tripped on a stray rock.

I let out a series of curses and watched it as it came closer. I couldn't control the involuntary scream that escaped my mouth yet again.

There was a thunder of feet and Jason burst in, his body taut as he flexed his muscles, clearly looking for a fight. His eyes swept over my fallen form and his eyebrows crunched in confusion until he saw my horrified gaze and looked at the object of my distress.

Believe me or not, the asshole doubled over laughing his ass off. One second he was in total Alpha mode and the next, he was rolling on the floor, roaring with laughter, "Seriously Tress? A cockroach? You are scared of a cockroach?"

I was panicking. The cockroach was moving towards me. I yelped and scraped my hands as I moved further back. I could see its horrible antennas twitching disgustingly. "Kill it! Kill it!" I shrieked, my breathing getting restricted.

He winced a little as my pitch rose but he smirked, "Kill it yourself,  Oh-So-Fearsome- Rogue Teressa!"

I screamed as it reached my foot,"Slam it!" Apparently I screamed so loud that Jason clapped his hands over his ears and went, "Geez!" and killed the horrible, digusting, ugly cockroach."

Only then did I realize how I had embarassed myself before Jason. He looked at me for a split second before laughing his head off once more. I angrily got up and brushed the dirt off my pants, glowering at the prick all the time.

Seriously he was acting like a kid.

Stomping angrily at him, I punched him hard. "Stop laughing at me! It's a real fear ok. People have legit fear of bugs."

That only made him laugh more and me more than angry. I huffed and said, "I would like to see your reaction if it gets in your pants!"

"God! I can't believe it you are frightened of a cockroach!" he seemed almost hysterical as he clutched his stomach. I felt like kicking him down there.

"You...you....Ass!" I shouted at him and pushed him. "I bet you are scared of black cats. Or those old werewolf superstitions.  Or - or you are scared of staring in the mirror at night!"

A shrewd hesitating look crossed his face before he rearranged his expression and opened his mouth but I beat him to it.

"Oh my GOD!" I breathed. Spot on, I couldn't believe it. "You are scared of staring at your mirror! Aren't you ?"

He scoffed, "As if!"

Now it was my turn to start laughing. God! What age is he living in? Does he still think that witches will stare out at him?

He rolled his eyes, "My fear might be legit. At least its not something as insignificant as a cockroach! I am not the one peeing their pants in the middle of the night when I see one!"
