Kala's POV:
The bitch had escaped.
It wasn't a moment to smile but I couldn't help the smile of triumph light up my lips. I would pay for this dearly but atleast I had ensured that he would be rescued.
That bitch might be many things yet she never let someone she thought as a friend behind.
I raised my hands in the air. The breeze blew my dirty hair around my face.
The shouts faded to a distance, the sounds of gun fire echoing dimly in my mind. I felt a hundred bullets enter my back, felt my body fall to the ground yet my mind seemed to register that at the back of my mind. I felt my eyes close as the blood- my blood - seeped in the mud around me.
This is what dying feels like.
I felt calm as if I was already a spectator watching someone die. Green eyes blinked before my eyes one last time.

Jason's POV:
It was the little things I noticed at first.
A battalion here, a group there. They were wrong.
Either someone had screwed the plans from the get go or the suspicion forming in my head was legitimate.
I scanned through the rest of the pages and sure enough I noticed the changes made. This wasn't our document.
Faint hope arose....did Tress change the plans? Did she give her father the wrong copy or had she altered these to help us?
I quashed the tendril.
Actions mattered. And Tress had chosen to betray me. The enemy was on the move. There was little that could be done. Even if she had made any effort to thwart our enemy, well too fucking late.
We did not have any other choice. We had to proceed with the original plan. I could be dooming my pack but we would not go down without a fight. The reinforcements were due to arrive by portal.
Entering the grounds, I gave the order. To prepare to face our enemies. The commotion hastened. Weapons were loaded and handed to men and women.
Around me soldiers marched towards their respective units. A few children clung to their fathers. Some parents were fiercely embracing their young. Tomorrow there would be war.
Tomorrow blood would be shed. A cold foreboding feeling came over me and my instincts bristled. The Alpha in me was on high alert.
"We will get those bastards," Neil said, solemnly staring at the men around us.
I nodded grimly. "We have to."
I was counting on him to have my back.
Always, he affirmed.
Brothers in combat we always would be.

Tress's POV:
My head hurt. My back hurt. My body hurt.
My mouth felt like cotton as awareness came to me. My wolf should have healed me by now. Where was I?
The earth felt cool beneath my cheek. I realized a moment too late that I was lying on the ground. Wincing, I sat up. My ears pricked, my nose tried to sniff out the territory.
I wasn't safe here. The hunters might be on my trail and it wouldn't be too hard, seeing as how I had a left a bleeding trail behind me.
My wolf's sense of direction was better than me.
