Chapter 12 [A second task]

Ikeri POV
It has been 4 days since me and Naruto got out of the forest of death. Today was the day we have the preliminary exam.

We were in lines of our teams. Then Lord third started to explain about the prelims. Soon after he finished, I looked up to the computerized board seeing Sasuke Uchiha vs. Yoroi Akado.

Yoroi had a mask on covering most of his face and dark shades covering his eyes. He had a leaf headband on.

It wasn't long before the match started, Sasuke was pinned down by only one hand on his head but that hand was glowing.

That's Orochimaru's curse mark. Back then, Orochimaru quit the akatsuki not long after papa joined so I don't know too much about him.

Sasuke stopped fighting back, too weakened to move. Soon he managed to gather enough strength to kick Yoroi across the room. Yoroi stood up again and ran at Sasuke with his hand glowing. Sasuke managed to dodge Yoroi's attacks. At one point, he tried to move but only ended up stumbling few steps forward. Yoroi mocked him before Sasuke pivoted on one foot kicking with the other. Then Sasuke continued dodging Yoroi's moves before disappearing and Yoroi in the jaw sending him up into the air.

"Lion barrage!" Sasuke yelled as he sent Yoroi on to the floor knocking him unconscious.

I looked closer only to discover the curse mark has retreated into Sasuke's color.

Upon being announced as the winner he slowly fell back. He got caught by Kakashi's leg though. I ran down to them.

"Well done." Kakashi praised.

"Sasuke Uchiha. We medics will give you the best of our treatment." A medic came over saying.

"I'll be taking him in on my own." Kakashi said.

"I'll be taking you to the back and we'll seal off that curse mark." Kakashi whispered to Sasuke.

I went to the back with them. "Kakashi, you do know that sealing it doesn't really work right?"

Kakashi didn't reply, he just continued writing words on Sasuke's back and soon sealed the curse mark.

"I'm impressed that you're able to seal off my curse mark." A voice I haven't heard in a long time said.

"Why are you after Sasuke?" Kakashi asked, narrowing his eyes, getting on guard.

Orochimaru then started to explain how he developed the hidden sound. He said that Sasuke would be a big piece to his success. He wanted Sasuke's sharingan. He also said that unlike Sasuke those sound nin who are participating in the chunin exams are merely sacrificial pieces.

"That was the original plan. But I never would've expected to see you here, Ikeri..." Before he finished glared at him. "You're as scary as ever."

He started to walk towards us.

"Don't move one more step closer to Sasuke!" Kakashi yelled activating a lighting type jutsu.

"Even if you're one of the legendary three, I'll still be able to kill you just as you kill me." Kakashi said.

"What you say and what you do are all off. He's an avenger. He will eventually come seek me out for power." Orochimaru said casually, walking away.

I ran after Orochimaru, leaving Kakashi and Sauske behind.

"Ikeri!" Kakashi yelled wanting to come after me but he had Sasuke to care about so he couldn't.

"Orochimaru. Let's make this clear, they don't know who I am and you're not telling them."
