Chapter 35 [Explosion]

Ikeri POV
It was just another peaceful morning as I slowly made my way to the hokage's office to see what'd installed for me today.

"Good Morning Kakashi. Anything going on?" I greeted him, entering his office only to see Naruto and Sakura gathered there. I didn't expect to see Naruto and Sakura here in the morning.

After greeting each other, Sakura went on to question Kakashi about a missing Konoha shinobis, one of them was a regular customer at Ino's family's flower shop. But before the conversation could go on any further, there was an explosion.

"I'll go check it out!" Naruto immediately said, opening the window and jumping out. Sakura followed along.

"Hey, you two!" Kakashi sighed at them but only to be ignored. I activated my sharingan before teleporting over.

There, Ino, Shikamaru and Choji were already standing there and soon to be companies by Naruto and Sakura. They were standing behind three shinobi who were going up against a few people, holding kunais in their hand.

"It can't be... That's Mr Taidachi..." Ino muttered, pointing at the men in the middle, shaking slightly.

"You mean your regular customer?" Sakura glanced over at Ino, recieving a nod.

"But he would never turn against the hidden leaf!" Ino exclaimed, unbelieving of the situation.

"Does that mean they could be under a genjutsu?" Shikamaru said.

"A genjutsu?" I glanced over at him, my sharingan still activated.

But before they had the time to discuss it through, one of the shinobi threw a shuriken at the men in the middle, the one Ino claimed to be Taidachi.

The shuriken hit Taidachi's shoulder but Taidachi didn't seem to feel any pain. He grabbed it and tore it out from his shoulder, dropping it on the ground.

As blood flowed, he started to expand. Naruto read the situation and ran ahead, using his shadow clones to save those shinobis ahead.

Taidachi continued expanding. Then, his body turned into a purple circle that contained a red core before exploding.

"An exploding human?!" They exclaimed, chorused.

The explosion caused the four others who were beside Taidachi to bled.

If they were all under the same genjutsu, then likely the same thing will happen to them when injured too. That was my theory.

I sprinted ahead, not bothering about their yells asking me to get back, I used my sharingan on them to see if I could undo the genjutsu or something of that sort.

It seemed to have work, I undid the genjutsu casted on them with my sharingan. Their eyes weren't red anymore and they didn't manage to explode but they did collapse onto the ground.

Then Hinata came. After, explaining the situation to her, Naruto requested her to check and see if anyone was manipulating them. Hinata used her byakugan to check around but found no one.

"Then how are they being manipulated?" Sakura asked. It was a good question. But what I'm more concerned about it what kind of jutsu has this effect and what is the motive of the jutsu caster.

I couldn't think of anything suspicious but then the thought of Kazuo Tomura came in mind. Could it be...?

"There is weird chakra moving through their body. Maybe that's what's controlling them." Hinata suggested.

"So we just got to remove that chakra?" Naruto asked, his hands placed behind his head.

"It's circulating their body." Hinata replied to his question.
