Chapter 21 [Rescue mission]

Ikeri POV

"Team Kakashi and Ikeri. I will be sending you on a S rank mission." Lady Tsunade announced.

Sakura and Naruto managed to pass the test and are now part of a team called Team Kakashi.

All of a sudden, someone came rushing in, gripping tight onto a paper.

"Lady Tsunade! The sand had sent word saying that the Kazekage has been captured by the Akatsuki." He yelled.

"Tch. Damn that Akatsuki. Team Kakashi and Ikeri. I will send you on a mission to rescue the Kazekage. This mission is S rank or higher. Be careful, good luck." Lady Tsunade said.

Oh, I wonder who I'll bump into. Hopefully not leader, he'd be he last person I wanna bump into.

"Yes ma'am." Team Kakashi said together while I just nodded.

Everyone was quiet the whole journey.

Soon it was nightfall.

"We should rest here for the night." Kakashi said, breaking the silence as we slowed down.

"But... Gaara's in trouble and you're just going to sleep here?!" Naruto yelled, frustrated.

"We're all exhausted. It'll be a long journey tomorrow, if we don't rest here it'll slow us down tomorrow and we'll only take longer to reach the sand." Kakashi explained.

Naruti unwillingly settled down. To be completely honest, I wasn't tired at all. Back then, on this kind of journey, we didn't rest at all.

We woke up before sunrise and continued our journey to the sand. We rested that night as well and we successfully reached the sand the next morning.

As we arrive, we heard news that Kankuro was poisoned and we went to see him at the hospital. As we entered the room, an old lady came running towards Kakashi with intent to kill.

"CURSE YOU WHITE FANG OF THE LEAF. I WILL KILL YOU!" She yelled before being held back by an old man.

"The white fang is dead remember? You read on the newspaper and you went berserk because you didn't get your revenge. This guy just looks like him but isn't him." The old man said.

"I'm not the white fang. I'm his son." Kakashi said calmly.

You could tell he wasn't the least surprised at being mistaken as his father.

"What happened to Kankuro?" Sakura yelled across the room.

I saw a few medical ninja explaining the situation to her. Then I saw Sakura asking the medical ninjas for something, herbs maybe. After they got it, Sakura made an antidote and cured Kankuro.

Then we went on to saving Gaara. Old lady Chiyo decided to tag along, knowing that Sasori, her grandson would he there.

They discovered that Sasori was the only person who knew how to make such poison.

Naruto was so mad at the akatsuki for taking Gaara he didn't notice he was using the Kyubi's chakra.

Team Gai soon came as reinforcements.

When we found the hideout. We discovered that there were more seals placed nearby and we needed to tear them off all at once to get through. Neji checked the places with his byakugan as Gai gave us headphones that allowed us to communicate with each other. Once they were all in position, Kakashi got them pull of the tag on his command. It worked. Then Sakura smashed the boulder that was blocking the entrance.

We found two akatsuki members, Deidera and Sasori. Deidera was sitting on Gaara's corpses.

Naruto got mad and wanted to beat him up. Kakashi immediately restraint him.

"Sasori my man, you wouldn't mind letting me handle this one too would you?" Deidera said as he went off with Gaara's corpse.

Naruto got even angrier than he was before and went after Deidera. Kakashi went with him fearing he wouldn't be able to face Deidera alone. Deidera is an akatsuki member after all.

I teleported ahead of Naruto and Kakashi onto the bird Deidera was riding on.

"You're not getting the nine-tails. Leader asked me to protect him and not allow it to be taken away until the time is right." I said.

Deidera laughed. "Well aint that funny? He just ordered me to get the Kyubi."

In any case, I cannot allow Deidera to get Naruto.

I teleported beside Naruto before following his fast pace, trying to catch Deidera.

Not very long after, Deidera stopped running and came down to face Naruto. Naruto was really angry. He didn't realize that he was drawing more and more kyubi chakra. He was already at stage 4. A little more and he'll do stuff unconsciously.

"Naruto. Stop letting the Kyubi chakra flow through you. You'll only be weaker and easier to defeat in that way!" I yelled, restraining him with my manipulated self as Kakashi paste a seal on his forehead, making Naruto turn back to his original self.

Deideta started attacking Naruto while Naruto was weak. Kakashi used his kamui on Deidera's hand. Deidera was left with no choice so he made himself into a bomb. At least that's what you would think.

Very soon after, Sakura and Lady Chiyo came. It would seem that they defeated Sasori.

"Go get the ring." I commanded my manipulated self.

Gaara was already dead by the time they got here but Lady Chiyo revived him in exchange of her own life.

With that, we made our way back to the sand.

"Kakashi, could you use your Kamui and bring back the ring on Deidera's hand that you sent to the other dimension?" I requested.

Kakashi did as I said and now I got both Sasori and Deidera's ring. I'll keep them for now. They'll prove themselves useful soon enough.

We meet up with team gai and headed back to konoha. We dropped by at the sand before that.

After arriving Konoha, team gai took Kakashi to the hospital, team Kakashi and I went to report  on the mission.

"Also before Sasori died, he said that he had a spy on orochimaru and that they were planned to meet in 3 days time." Sakura said after I finished the report.

"For all we know it could me a trap. But we can't waste this opportunity. I'll assign a team to go meet up with the spy. You're dismissed." Lady Tsunade said.
