Love, Boys, and Jealousy: A Typical Romance

Chapter 4

Erica walked into science telling Isabella everything. Isabella was so happy, maybe even happier than Erica.

"Are you serious?" Isabella asked when Erica told her about the kiss. 

"Of course im serious!" she replied 

"Oh my God! I am so happy for you. You're growing uo so fast." she said as Josh walked in. He came behind Erica and hugged her.  

"Hey." he said with his smile. 

"Hey." she replied. 'Ugh' she thought. She couldn't get enough of that smile. It made her heart swoon. 

"Can't wait for Saturday."  

"Me either." 

"You guys are adorable. Stop it." said Isabella. 

"She's right. We should sit down." Josh commented as he took Erica's hand in hers and walked over to their seats. She wanted to bring up why Michael looked hurt but she decided not to. Michael and Josh were best friends and she didn't want to ruin that.

"Look on the bright side." Josh started, talking Erica out if her thoughts, "at least Mr. Komar won't embarrass me today by saying were flirting." 

"That is so true. But just to be safe, we shouldn't talk when he starts."  

"You're probably right." 

"I'm Erica, I'm always right." she said as they both started laughing. Mr. Komar cut them off and started talking. The two of them stopped but kept smiling and looking at each other and were holding hands under the table. He started class at the end just to check for signatures on the sheet he handed out the previous day. Once he finished, the bell rang so Erica and Josh said their goodbyes until ninth period.

Ninth period rolled around after gym, half the school was buzzing with the news on their newest couple. Everyone was asking Erica and Josh if they were dating which was an obvious yes especially after what happened in English earlier that day. Nothing happened in social studies. Erica talked to Isabella and Josh talked to Darren. Erica could hear their conversation though. It was about english and Michael.

"You should have seen Michael's face when you kissed Erica in English." Darren said after Mrs. Ralin checked the sheets. 

"Why? What was it?" 

"He looked really hurt and betrayed." 

"Betrayed? Why?" 

"You mean you don't know?" 

"Know what?" Josh was utterly confused. 'He looked so cute when he was confused' Erica thought 

"That Michael likes Erica. He has for a while."  

"He never told me this." 

"He said he did." 

"Then I don't remember." Josh said with an edge. 

"Would it have changed what you did if you did remember?" 

"What I did? What am I supposed to do? Not date the one girl I really like that stole my breath the moment I saw her? How is that fair?" Josh was getting angry. 

"How is it fair to Michael?" 

"It's not my fault that she likes me and I like her. You can't control that. You can't control who you like and the actions of others. I'm sorry I hurt Michael but I'm not going to not date Erica just to make him happy because than I won't be. I got to her first and she's mine. I want to be with her. It's not my fault he was a coward and didn't do anything."
