Love, Boys, and Jealousy: A Typical Romance

Chapter 15

"Wait what?" Erica didn't know how to respond.

"I came onto Josh when you were dating him. When I found out you were dating him, I got really jealous. I don't know why, I never liked him before." Jaclyn confessed

"So you want what you can't have?"

"I guess so. That's what it seems like."

"Well do you still like him?"

"Yes."

"So your hoping that we don't get back together?" Erica interogated

"I don't know what I want."

"I see..." Erica got pissed. She ended the chat. She wasn't only pissed at Jaclyn but at Josh as well. He kept this from her. Yeah, sure, she kept Blake from him but the crcumstances were different. This was one of her friends coming onto her boyfriend. Blake manipulated Erica and Josh didn't even know him or what he was about. Erica went to bed. Well she tried anyway. Her mind was racing; she couldn't sleep no matter how hard she tried and she was exhausted.

It was a sleepless night but it was Tuesday. Erica dragged herself out of bed and forced herself to get ready for school. When she got to firstperiod, John asked if everything was okay. She told him about Jaclyn and what she did. He was shocked. Scond period, Veronica did the same thing. Once again , Erica told her about Jaclyn. When third perio olled aroun, Erica saw Josh by her desk. "Can we talk?" he asked.

"Let me think... Um no." Erica said and she sat down and Josh walked away. He looked upset but Erica was mad at him for more then one reason. He kept things from her and he misjudged her and accused her of lying about her love for him. Yes she did keep Blake from Josh but that's different. she listened to Mr. Simon and when the period was over, she left without a word to Josh. He tried to catch her at the end but she just walked. She went to lunch.

"What happened now?" Abigail was curious. "Josh wanted to talk to you and you just blew him off."

"He did more then misjudge me. Jaclyn came onto him and he kept that from me, he accused me of lying about my love for him and he misjudged me with Blake."

"Not to take sides or anything,but you also kept Blake from him." Alex commented.

"Yes I know that, but it's different. Jaclyn is one of my friends and he doesn't know Blake or anything that was happening and why I did what I did but now he does know."

 "I see where your coming from, I do, but It doesn't sem fair for you to be mad at himbecause he kept something from you when you also did the same thing to him." said Kathleen

"It's not just that though."

"I know bu-" Kathleen was cut off

"-look Erica's been through enough, just drop it all and eat your lunch." said Abigail.

"Thanks Abby."

"Your welcome." They sat and ate their lunch for the rest of the period.

Erica ignored Josh again in science and social studies. She went out with Justin and Isabella after school for a little while then Isabella went back to Erica's house beause Justin had to go to work. When they were back at Erica's it was five-thirty. They ordered pizza and Erica filled Isabella in on everything with Jaclyn and what happened through the day.

"That explains why you ignored him in science and social studies." Iabella saidwhen Erica was done talking.

"I know. It's just alot."

"I know. Are you ever going to forgive him?"

"Maybe." Her phone started ringing. "It's Josh." she hit 'ignore'.

"Why did you do that?"

"I'm not ready to talk to him." she got a videocall. It was Josh. She hit 'decline'.

"He just can't take a hint, can he?"

"I guess not."

They sat in Erica's room talking. It was ight-thirty when Isabella said "I'm surprised, we haven't heard from Josh in awhile".

"I know." Right then, Erica heard a rock on her window. She ignored it at first, then she heard another. When she looked out her window, she saw Josh standing there with his gutair. "Spoke to soon." Erica said looking back at Isabella

"Is that him?"

"Yeah." Erica opened her window. "What are you doing here?"

"Well you won't answer me any other way so I had to do it differently and show up in person." he answered. Erica closed her window. She heard Josh start to play his gutair. She recongizied the melody. hat's went it hit her. It was the meloy of the song the two of them wrote on new years.

"I can't believe it..." Erica said

"What?" ISabella was curious

"This is the song we wrote together on new years. I can't believe he finished it..."

"Three words, eight letters, I love you..." Josh started

"He's rally good." Isabella commented.

"Yeah he is."

"He's trying really hard to get you back. I think you should talk to him."

"I will." Erica opened her window.

"Your the wind beneath my wings, the flame to my canle, the beat to my heart. Your my everything." Josh sung. Erica sat there staring at him. Right before the song ended, she left. Isabella cam into view. "Where's Erica?" he asked her.

"Right here." Erica came out of her house. "I can't believe you finished it. Itwas amazing." she smiled.

"You liked it?"

"I loved it."

"Look I'm really sorry babe. I got jealous of this guy and didn't give you a chance to explain anything." Josh apologized.

"No I'm sorry. You wanted to and I didn' give you that chance to day or yesterday."

" Yeah, what was with that?"

"Well I was mad at you because Jclyn told m yesterday night that she came onto you and you kept that from me."

"I didn't want you to loose a friend over something like that. And you kept Blake from me."

"I know I did but the circumstances were different. Jaclyn was my friend and she came onto you. You don't know Blake and he manipulated me."

"I know that now. Forgive me?" Josh pleaded.

"I forgive you."

"Yay!" Josh picked up Erica and spun her around.

"From now on, we tell eachother everyhing. No secrets. No matter how bad."

"Deal." Josh kissed Erica. Sh looked up and smiled at Isabella.

"I got to get back inside though, Isabella's here."

"Okay, go. We will do the plan tomorrow. Night." Josh hugged Erica and she walked back insid.

"I take it everythings alright between you two now?" she asked

"Yeah. He apologized and we are doing he plan tomorrow."

"Good. I'm glad your happy again."

"So am I." Erica got a text. It was from some number she didn't know.

"Who texted you.

"I don't know."

"Well what does it say?" She read the text and she got scared. "Well?" Isabella pushed

"It says: I will make you regret ever going out with Josh. I will get him. And you too."
