It was Monday morning and Erica was getting ready for school when she heard her phone buzz. It was a text from Josh. He was sick and wouldn't make it to school that day, which sucked because it was his first day of baseball tryouts. As soon as her dad told her that Michael had lied about not knowing who sent the texts, she texted Josh and they were supposed to confront him about it today. Now she had to do it by herself. Fun...
Erica finished getting ready and walked to Isabella's house. She was outside waiting for her. Isabella knew about the results from the test also. "So what are you going to say to Michael?" she asked
"I really don't know. Josh is sick so now I have to do this alone and I really don't know what I'm going to say. I mean yeah I'm not afraid of Michael, I can obviously beat him up if he needs it, but I still don't know how to."
"Well you could wait tomorrow when Josh comes back."
"No I told him I would do it."
"Oh okay. You'll think of something. You're a smart girl."
"Thanks Bella."
"Your welome." she paused. "Isn't today the first day of tryouts for baseball?"
"Yeah it is."
"Is that going to hurt his chances of making the team?"
"I certainly hope not. Baseball is his favorite sport and he wants to go all the way with it. Like make the Yankees. He could too. He's amazing, I've seen him."
"What positon does he do?"
"Pitcher, catcher and left field, but his favorite is left field and that's also is best."
"Quite a dream. Do you think he could do it?"
"Not sure. I mean I have all faith in him, but it's very hard to make the pros. But he's extremley dedicated so he ould but I just don't want him to get crushed if he doesn't. All he has to do is practice a lot."
"Very true." They reached school and went to class.
Erica got to first period and talked to John. "Hey is Josh here today?" he asked
"No he's not, unfortuatley."
"Damnit. We have tryouts today."
"I know you do. Wait, you didn't tell me that you were going out for basball."
"I'm going out for J.V lacrosse."
"I really hope that you both make the team and that Josh not being there today doesn't hurt his chances. This is what he really wants to do."
"I know that. I hope that he makes it. It's like his dream to play baseball."
"I know it is. Hopefully he'll be back tomorrow so he can make up for today." Erica said.
"Hopefully. So hey, what are you going to do about Michael?"
"I don't know. I mean, yeah he told the truth that he didn't send the texts to me but he lied about not knowing who really did send them."
"Are you going to confront him about it?"
"Josh and I were going to do it today together but since he's absent I have to do it alone."
"Good luck."
"Thanks John."
"Your welcome."
By third period, Erica still didn't know how she was going to confront Michael, but she decided to just wing it. "Hey Michael come here."
"Yeah? Did you get the results?"
