The next morning was blur. Erica couldn't really focus when she was getting ready. The dream felt so real, she could feel the perosn's hands on her, the piercing brown eyes drilling into hers. Right before the knife hit Josh, she jolted awake. She made the choice that even though she promised Josh no more secrets, that this was something that she shouldn't tell him, at least not now because she didn't want to ruin his week and make him distracted at tryouts. It's probably nothing anyway. It's probably just her subconcious way of showing her paranoia with everything with Michael lately. It's nothing she kept telling herself.
Nothing.
When she left her house, she met up with Isabella who right away noticed distress in Erica's eyes. "What's wrong?" she asked
"What? Huh? Oh, um nothing." Erica stammered.
"Your lying. It's written all over our face. What happened with Josh yesterday? I called you a couple of times but you never answered or called back. Is everything alright between you two?"
"Of course. Everything is perfect." Erica forced a smile onto her face, although Isabella could see right through it.
"No. Maybe nothing is up with Josh in particular but something is definately up, so spill."
"Nothing. I mean nothing that... I hope."
"See that's what I mean. You just gave yourself up right there. Something's up girl, what happened?"
"Ugh fine." she started. "I had a dream."
"A dream? That's why your distressed?"
"Not just a dream. I had a dream someone in a ski mask with piercing brown eyes through a knife at Josh and made me watch it. I woke up right before it hit him."
"Okay, well maybe it's just the paranoia your having with Michael."
"Yeah that's what I was thinking. For a minute I thought it coud be Alex, but Alex has light blue eyes, not brown."
"What color are Michael's?"
"I'm not so sure."
"Okay. Well his may not be brown so don't freak, and you said you woke up before it hit Josh?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, well that's a good thing."
"True."
"Just don't be so stressed alright?"
"I'll try."
Erica and Isabella walked into the school and went to class. Erica saw John waiting to ask her something, but she wasn't sure what. "What's up?" she asked, sitting down.
"Nothing."
"You sure?"
"Positive."
"Okay." Erica didn't believe him.
"Well..." John started
"Well what?"
"Question."
"Answer."
John started slowly. "Do um do you think that I should tell Veronica that I love her today?"
"Okay well first, do you have anything special planned?"
"Well today's her birthday so I really wanted to tell her."
"Are you doing anything for her birthday?"
"Saturday."
"Then tell her Saturday. Not today. You have to do it the right way."
