Love, Boys, and Jealousy: A Typical Romance

Chapter 27

"Wait what?" Josh asked Erica when she told him about Jaclyn's text the night before.

"I honestly don't know."

"Okay so if she doesn't love me and doesn't love Michael, why is she trying to break us up?

"Why would she try to break us up if she wanted to be with Michael to beign with?"

"I don't know. Maybe to prove herself worthy to him? I don't know."

"She's really confusing." Erica said as Josh opened the door for Erica. "Thanks."

"You're welcome. And yeah she really is. But we will continue this later. Maybe in science when she's there. We can confront her about it."

"Very true. But I should go. See you third period." She just leaned in and kissed his cheek then walked to first period. John was sitting there waiting for her for some reason.

"Hey Erica can I ask you something?."

"Um yeah sure. Is it about Veronica?"

"Yeah, so you know that tomorrow is our four month anniversary, and I want to do something special that she would realy like but I don't know what. I know you and Josh did some rally romantic things for your anniversaries so I was wondering if you could give me some help. Like some pointers."

"Well you know that I wasn't the one to come up with the ideas. Josh was."

"I know, but still."

"Okay, well what did you get her?"

John took out his phone and showed her a picture of a gold ring with a sapphire gem. Her birthstone. "This. Will she like it?"

"I think she'll love it. This is beautiful."

"Thanks. So any idea on how to give it to her and what to do tomorrow?"

"Okay, well on New Years, Josh took me on a moonlit boat ride on Fall Lake. Then one night he took me to a teens club that was only lit up by dim candle light and had romantic music playing. Why don't you take her there. It was like a teen couples bar with a dance floor and everything."

"That sounds really nice, but sort of your thing. But it is giving me a different idea.  How about I take her to this abandoned place I know and have a moonlit picnic with candles and music."

"That's sounds so romantic. Actually it is. Josh did the same thing for me on my birthday."

"Damnit."

"Look, John, don't worry about if me and Josh did it. Do what you want, and if you want to do that, then do that. I know she'll love it."

"Okay, but I think I'll do something else but I'm just not so sure yet."

"Okay." Erica and John sat down for the period. Soon, it was third period and Erica was talking to Josh when he reminded Michael about the lie dector test after school at three o'clock at Erica's. He responded with "yeah, yeah i'll be there."

Erica was nervous to do the test. Especially if Michael was innocent,, she would have no idea who it was. When lunch rolled around, she sat down and talked to Abigail and Alex. "Hey."

"Hey." said Alex

"So today we're doing the lie dector test."

"What lie dector test?"

"The one where we find out if Michael is really innocent or not. But I have a feeling he really is beause he is willing to do it."

"Who do you think it would be if Michael is innocent?" Alex was eager.  

"I have absolutley no idea. Maybe Jaclyn."

"I don't know." commented Abigail

"Why not?" Erica was confused

"Why would she want to break up you and Josh if she doesn't like Josh or Michael?"

"I have no idea." Alex sat there with a blank stare. "What do you think Alex?"

"Huh? Oh um I don't know."

"Okay then." Erica really didn't know what else to say, so they just ate lunch. When fifth period came, Erica went to math. Mrs. Lase left yesterday for marenity leave so today they were just easing into things with the sub so they worked for the first period then relaxed the second. As the bell rang, Erica stood up and walked over to Mark, Phoebe, Veronica and Isabella. "Hey." she said

"Sup?" Mark commented with a head nod and his arm around Phoebe.

"Nothing much. So tomorrow is both of yor four minths ins't it?"

"Yeah." replied John.

"Good. You remembered." Veronica said. She was sitting in the chair infront of John holding his hand. 

"Yeah I did." John leaned over and kissed Veronica.

"Oh god get a room." said Phoebe

"Seriously John. Roll back over." Mark laughed. John pulled way and started laughing and hit Mark's shoulder.

"Happy?" he asked.

"Exstatic."

"So guys guess what." Erica said, changing the conversation.

"What?" asked Isabella

"Well you all know about Michael and all the crap, so me and Josh asked him to do a lie dector test, and we're doing it today at my house at three o'clock."

"For real?" asked Veronica

"Serious. But we both think that he might really be teling the truth because he is willing to do it. But we don't know who it could be if it's not Michael. I thought Jaclyn for a minute but then I realized that it probably isn't her becasue she said she doesn't love Josh or Michael. She loves someone else."

"Who?" Mark and John were intrigued.

"I have no idea. She didn't say."

"So she doesn't like Josh or Michael?" Phoebe confirmed.

"Yeah."

"Then why would she want to..." Mark started, "Oh my god."

"What?" asked Phoebe

"I think I know." Said Isabella. "Maybe she likes you, Erica. Maybe Jaclyn's gay."

(Hey everyone! Sorry for the lateness in the update. Things have been hectic with school and everything, then Thursday I was hit with some pretty painful news so I've been alittle bit distracted. Who else thinks that Jaclyn is gay for Erica? Who agrees with Mark and Isabella? Do you all think that Michael really did it? Or was it truly someone else?
