Riza sighed tiredly as she stared at the papers in front of her, the words seem to swim before her. She took a moment to look at the over posh office, since she started working for the Furhur (due unwillingly) she was granted a sort-of personal office, it was directly connected to the Furhur’s office as well as the rest of the building in a corridor-like fashion. Again, she looked down at the papers and attempted not to roll her eyes, really, a report on an argument who stole who’s curtain?

The door opened, it must be another high officer, since she was hired, many would flock into the office for no decent reason other than to hit on her. And again, “How you doing beautiful?”

“I am fine, thank you, do you have a meeting with the Furhur?” her automatic response.

“Who would want to see him? The guy’s been trying to kill us for how long now.”

Wait……. What?! She looked up in surprise and was not disappointed, “Colonel Mustang! A surprise to see you here.” She did not expect the man to be able to visit with the amount of paperwork she was sure that the Furhur must have given him…...never mind, she should have known, Mustang does not DO paperwork.

“Indeed, it is, so how is the job?” he wiggled his eyebrows. She looked at him carefully, under the playful, happy façade, the man seemed tired, aged, like the a large portion of the world had just been rested on his shoulders.

“I’m well, it’s quite interesting, I must say the man does his paperwork well.” She smirked as the Colonel, who was leaning on her desk abruptly slumped forward.

“Whatever.” The fire-alchemist suddenly stood up and looked at her with a small smirk, one that was filled with so much emotions that she couldn’t decipher them. “I got a meeting from a small white fox the other day.”

“Oh?” she pretended to play uninterested but the both knew better, ‘white fox’ was a code name that the team used to pass info that Storm had, this meant that it was quite important.

“He said that the others were ready to break the nest down, built a new one, you know?” he smiled cheekily. ‘The final fight is coming, it’s time to rebuild this hellhole.’

“He said that huh?” ‘what is the plan?’

“Yup, I was wondering…. Would you like to join me to see it?” ‘Do you want to come with me before it all goes to hell?’

“Yes, actually I have a coffee break in five minutes, why don’t I meet you outside.” ‘I’ll be there, wait for me, I’ll follow you if you believe this decision is the best.’ Mustang nodded and walked out.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

“You ready?” Mustang smiled as he held out his hand, she huffed and walked ahead of him. Both chuckled, “Milady, I have plans today, I was wondering if you wanted to see the tunnels?” ‘Our escape route is the tunnels underground; do you agree to use them?’

“Ready whenever you are.” She smiled as she got into the car. After years of working together, read between each other’s lines became second nature, even the rest of the team can do it, not as well but enough to survive, though Storm…and Maes were able to do just through their eyes.

It was not even ten minutes before Mustang pulled to the side and exited the vehicle, Riza followed steps behind. “There’s an exit about two miles from here, it’s a bit of a walk but you will be safer.”

As they ran deep into the tunnels, Mustang’s words seemed to finally register. She pulled to a full halt into a large opened-out area in the underground tunnels, a place that looked like a fight had gone down not long ago but that did not matter at the moment (This is the place where Ed, Al and Toshiro fought Father). “Wait, me?”
