Chapter nine - Breakdown

*Gale's POV*

I ran as soon as I heard Myka’s shout. Then I heard a loud cracking sound. I was first to arrive and saw Tyler with a hand to his cheek on the floor and Myka standing up yelling at him.

“They weren’t kidding when they said you were a bit full on, were they?” She shouted at him. I was about to run in there and pull her away when everyone else arrived and I heard Tyler’s reply.

“If you didn’t like it you didn’t have to kiss me back!” He shouted. My heart sank and I just stood still at the doors. She kissed him. They kissed. I just kept repeating those words in my head.

“I didn’t exactly have a choice when your tongue was shoved down my throat did I?” She shouted. Tongue. There was tongue.

“I don’t want to be just someone’s toy!” Myka ran out of the room and as she pushed past me I saw the tears running down her cheeks.

“I’ll just, I’ll go check on her.” Ruby said awkwardly and quickly ran out following Myka using her superspeed. I was just staring at Tyler. His gaze met mine and his mouth opened like he wanted to say something then closed again.

“You touch her again, and I swear I will personally shove your cheating ass right back into Hell.” I said calmly but seriously and walked out of the room. Everyone stared at me and moved out of my way as I walked down the hallway in the same direction as Ruby and Myka. 

*Ruby's POV*

Wow. That was some serious argument. I can’t believe she kissed him. I can’t believe he kissed her. And where the hell did she go? Man that girl can run fast for a mundane. My thoughts were cut off as I rounded another corner and saw Myka just sitting on the floor leaning on the wall with her knees pulled up to her chest, her arms locked around her legs and her head buried in her knees crying.

“You lost again?” I joked and slowly walked towards her.

“Oh, hey.” She replied looking up at me and wiping away her tears. More tears just replaced them. “I don’t even know why I’m crying.” She threw her hands up in the air in defeat against the tears.

“Because you’re sad.” I answered as I sat down next to her. 

“Why? Why am I sad? I have Gale back, and I have all of you. I just, I just don’t understand it.” She sobbed.

“Yes you have Gale back, but it’s not the same. It’s different, he’s different, you’re different, you’re whole relationship with him is different now.” I said soothingly and gently started rubbing her back.

“No. I’m still me, Gale’s still Gale, together we’re still us.” She argued.

“Yes but you’re life’s different. Really different.” I replied.

“I don’t like it.” She complained.

“I don’t think anyone likes change.” I said with a smile. “Now come on, why’d you slap Tyler?”

“I, he, we, you’re going to hate me.” She eventually got out.

“Just tell me. It helps to have a girlfriend to talk to.” I said.

“Okay, promise you won’t hate me?” She asked.

“I swear.” I replied.

“Okay.” She took a big breath. “I made out with Tyler, and I kissed Tresean and... I almost kissed Marcus.” I think I just felt my world shatter.

“Please don’t hate me.” She pleaded with big eyes looking at me. I tried to put on a fake smile but think I failed from the look on Myka’s face.
