*Myka's POV*

My eyes flew open. Or at least I thought they did. I couldn’t see anything. It was pitch black. I tried pinching myself to see if I was dreaming but my hands we stuck. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t move my arms. It was then as if my brain started working and realized that my arms were chained above my head. The harder and more I pulled, the more the chains dug into my wrists.

“Help.” I whispered my voice cracking. My throat was dry and it burned just to swallow.

“Is anyone there? Someone please, help me.” I started shouting while still trying to pull on my chains.

“I’d stop pulling. The chains aren’t going to come loose and you’re just hurting yourself even more.” A dark, cold voice said. I froze in shock. I know that voice.

“Then wh- why can’t I feel anything?” I stuttered.

“That’s just Tim. He used some magic to knock you out. It’ll wear off and you can feel pain again soon.” I could hear the smile in her voice.

“Kaycee, what do you want with me?” I groaned.

“I don’t want anything with you. My father does. He’s going to drain you dry and steal your powers.” She said turning on a dim lamp that allowed me to see around. The room I was in was small, tiny. All walls were dark bricks, no windows. The only light around the room was the tiny lamp Kaycee had turned on. The room was very dungeon-like.

“Steal my powers? I don’t even know what powers I have.” I laughed weakly.

“You don’t know your powers?” She asked in disbelief.

“No I don’t. Anyway where is your father? Shouldn’t I be dead already?” I could start feeling again and my arms were aching. I had a pounding headache too.

“He’s gone to Hell. But he’ll be back soon. And when he’s here, you’re dead.” She said.

“Well can I at least have some water? I’m sure your dad wouldn’t want me dead before he gets here.” I deadpanned. She smiled.

“I’m allowed to have my own fun with you before Daddy gets here. So, no water.” She said.

“Daddy? Seriously?” I asked coughing on a laugh which just hurt my throat even more but wiped the smile off of Kaycee’s face.

“At least I know who my father is.” She sneered.

“You see Kaycee, I’m sure that would really hurt me except it doesn’t. Because I have never have and I don’t care about who my real parents are.” I told her truthfully. Sure I’d like to know where I come from and who my parents are, but that’s more to find out what I am than to actually want to know my parents.

“I’d shut up right about now if I were you.”Kaycee warned.

“Good thing you’re not me then. I’ve got nothing better to do while waiting for your ‘Daddy’, so let’s talk Kaycee. Homecoming’s coming up. Who’s your date, or have you already drained his body of blood?” I asked. I was pissing her off. She knew it and I loved it.

“Actually there is something you could do.” She trailed off, an evil glint in her eye.

“Are we going to paint each other’s nails?” I asked faking excitement.

“As much fun as that sounds, I have something else in mind. It’ll involve lots of screaming.” She smirked opening an old wooden chest in the corner of the room.

“What’s in that?” I asked. She stood up turning around to face me.

“You like science, don’t you Myka?” She asked innocently.

“I like a lot of subjects. You know that.” I answered.

“Yes, but you love science most.” She replied.

“Where are you going with this Kaycee?” I asked exasperated.

“We’re going to do some experimenting.” She smiled holding up a jar of clear liquid.

“We’re playing with water?” I asked biting my lip to hide a smile.

“No. We’re seeing what can hurt you. It’ll help figure out just what exactly you are. You’d like to know that, wouldn’t you?”She asked.

“Yeah but, water?” I asked dubiously.

“Not ordinary water. Holy water.” She answered just before throwing the holy water on me. The only thing heard was me cracking up laughing.

“Guess I got that drink after all.” I said licking my lips and smiling at her through the damp strands of my hair.

“Holy water, that’s a no. Next torture item.”She muttered to herself crossing something out on a checklist. A very long checklist.

“Oh my God.” I blurted.

“So I’ll cross off saying holy words then.”Kaycee said, completely ignoring why I said that. This room. I know this room. I’ve seen it before. This is the same room from my dreams. Or as everyone else seems to believe, my visions. My head shot up with the realization. This is the room where I’m chained to the wall. Instinctively I tried pulling the chains again but that just made me wince from the pain of the metal digging into my wrists. Soon my wrists would start bleeding. Soon all of me would be bleeding. Soon, I’d be being tortured for real. Gale, please hurry. Get me out of here. I pleaded in my head as my first of many tears to come fell.
