*Myka's POV*
“First thing I want to know,” I began as everyone shut up listening in to my questions. “What’s happening tomorrow, with school and all that? I can’t just skip.”
“Why not?” Tyler asked. Gale just laughed.
“Man, you do not know Myka. Straight A student, top of the class, teachers pet, the good girl, clean freak and has to do everything right. Pretty much Little Miss Perfect. Hey, they should make one of those Mr. Men and Little Miss books as that! Yeah, Little Miss Perfect. That’s awesome.” He said. I glared at him.
“Now is not the time for your stupid ideas Gale. And I am not ‘Little Miss Perfect’. In case you havn’t noticed, my life kinda sucks right now.” I said with a warning tone in my voice. The room was silent.
“And also I can’t miss a day of school. Then my perfect track record of not missing a day will be ruined.” I stated in a happier tone. Everyone started laughing.
“Yeah, you’re totally not Little Miss Perfect.” Tresean said sarcastically.
“I don’t think she’s that perfect.” Jenny stated.
“Neither do I.” Silvia joined in shuffling closer to Tresean and glaring at me. With her arms wrapped around one of his, and her sitting so close to him glaring at me, it was clear she was telling me to back off of Tresean. They were both sitting on a rug on the floor facing me and Gale on the couch, Jenny was in a single recliner to the right of us, Tyler was leaning against the wall in front of us but on the right side of the fire and mantlepiece, Marcus the same as Tyler but on the left side, Everest, Ruby, Zack and Julian were all sprawled out on the floor to the left of us surrounding a board game of Monopoly.
“Kaycee wouldn’t try anything in public, would she? I wouldn’t think so. Otherwise I’m sure she would’ve already drained all of you dry by now.” I stated drily.
“The girl has a point.” Zack chimed in. I smiled up at him.
“Thankyou. So does this mean I get to go to school?” I asked practically bouncing up and down in my seat.
“I’d prefer you stay here.” Gale muttured.
“You know I can’t do that. If I am locked up in this house for even one more day, I think I might just go insane.” I told him. Reluctantly he sighed and nodded his head.
“Fine. But you must have at least two of us with you at all times.” He said.
“Okay yeah I will!” I squealed throwing my arms around his neck hugging him.
“I swear, one day you’re going to drive me insane.” He muttured but hugged me back before letting go. I layed down on the couch with my head resting on the arm rest and my feet in Gale’s lap as he absentmindedly rubbed the bottom of my shins. Jenny was glaring at me.
“You know Jenny, for your sake I hope the wind doesn’t change.” I stated unfazed by her glares. Everyone in the room turned to look at me with questioning gazes except Gale who hid a laugh with a cough. I looked over and smiled at him.
“Well seeing as all this supernatural creatures thing is real, then you might want to stop glaring at me all the time.” I continued. When everyone just kept staring at me with clueless faces I gaped in shock.
“Didn’t your parents say that to you? To any of you? If the wind changes when you’ve got a silly look or in Jenny’s case a glare, then your face will stay that way forever. Haven’t you ever heard that before?” When everyone shook their heads I felt my jaw drop.
