*Myka's POV*

He flashed me his trademark grin. I didn’t smile.

“What are you doing here?” Gale growled.

“Ooh scary.” Cole laughed. “I just came to see my girlfriend.”

Ex-girlfriend.” I clarified.

“So she’s single and you still haven’t made a move?” Cole asked Gale teasingly. I put a hand to Gale’s arm hoping to calm him. I could see the tension and want to attack running like elctricity all over him.

“Cole seriously, what do you want?” I asked exasperated.

“I just came to see my girl.” He shurgged putting his hands in his pockets.

“I’m not your girl anymore.” I stated dryly.

“Wait,” Tyler cut in. “So this is the guy you recently broke up with? Cole Carter? The football team’s quarterback?”

“Yes.” I sighed.

“And I never got to show him what I thought of his lying and cheating self.” Gale grumbled so that only I could hear.

“Gale, no.” I whispered turning to face him.

“I can. Now there’s no way he can beat me.” He said his voice getting lower and deeper.

“It’s not right to use your new strength. It’s kind of like cheating.” I told him.

“It’s not right how he treated you.” He growled.

“If you wanted to get back at him for cheating then lying to me, you should’ve done it a month ago when he actually did break my heart. Not now. It’s too late now.” I said harshly. For a moment he didn’t speak.

“You know I would’ve protected you. You know I would’ve got revenge for what he did.” Gale murmured.

“That’s not the point Gale!” I yelled. “You didn’t. Revenge? It wouldn’t have been revenge. You would have beaten him to a pulp. It wouldn’t help the situation. It’s not what I would’ve wanted. I wanted you to be there when I needed you the most. But you weren’t. You weren’t there and I needed my best friend then. I needed you but you weren’t there!” Everyone was silent looking at me and Gale. I ignored them and stared at Gale, tears brimming the edge of my vision. I saw the hurt and regret flashs across his eyes before disappearing.

You weren’t there.” I finished speaking with a normal volume now.

“She needed you Gale. Sounds more like a booty call to me.” Cole snickered. Suddenly Gale whirled around and punched Cole right in the face. There was a crack and Cole flew backwards landing on the ground while blood spurted everywhere.

“Gale!” I screamed as he launched himself onto Cole repeatedly punching him.

“Gale stop! Just stop! Please!” I pleaded. There was a huge crowd of people just watching the commotion. Then Marcus, Tyler, Tresean and Zack were all grabbing at Gale’s arms and pulling him off of Cole. Snarling, Gale was finally pulled off revealing a bloody and bruised Cole lying on the ground clutching his face. I rushed to kneel down next to him.

“Oh my God, Cole are you okay!?” I asked frantically. “No of corse you’re not okay. What a stupid question.”

“You’re rambling Myka.” He stated groggily.

“Yeah I know. I ramble when I’m nervous.” I said quickly.

“I know that.” Cole smiled. I let out a small smile as I removed his hand from his face. His nose was crooked and clearly broken. There was blood spattered everywhere and his lip was busted too. I suspected he’s also have a black eye by tomorrow. It was already swelling and going purple.
