*Myka's POV*

As soon as Gale entered the doorway that led to the kitchen he stopped still. I looked over his shoulder to see everyone sitting at a table, half eaten dinners, all staring at us. Immedately I stopped giggling and jumped down from Gale’s back. I quickly straightened my outfit looking anywhere but at everyone else.

“Let’s go sit.”Gale said turning to me and leaning down to speak into my ear. He grabbed my hand giving it a reassuring squeeze before slowly inching forward to the table pulling me along. I stayed close to his side never letting go of his hand.

“Myka, I’m-”Tyler started but I cut him off.

“I don’t want to talk about it.” I said as Gale led me over to two empty chairs with two plates full of spaghetti in front. Once we had seated I really saw what was in front of me. I screamed and jumped out of my seat.

“What the hell Gale?” I shrieked looking at him next to me. Everyone’s attention was still on us. Gale just cracked up laughing.

“Stop laughing! Get them off! Get them off!” I shouted. He just laughed harder.

“That’s a way better reaction than I expected.” He said wiping tears from his eyes.

“Freaking get them off!” I shouted again.

“Chill Shrimp. They’re just gummy worms.” He said picking one out of my plate of spaghetti and eating it. Everybody burst out laughing while I just screwed up my face at him.

So not funny Gale.” I exclaimed hitting his shoulder and sitting back down.

“It kinda was.”He replied as everyone stopped laughing and began eating and talking normally again totally ignoring me and Gale. I looked over at him and smiled.

“Thankyou.” I said.

“I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.” He replied scooping up some spaghetti and smiling back at me.

“It’s not awkward anymore. Thankyou.” I said again.

“Your welcome. Now eat. Worms are good for you.” He said with a devilish smile. I picked up one of the gummy worms and threw it at him. Quickly he caught it in his mouth making me frown. He frowned at my frown then poked me in my ribs making me burst out giggling. He smiled when I did. I looked up and saw Tyler, Marcus, Tresean and Jenny all staring at me and Gale, though Jenny was glaring. My smile faded a little.

“You know they’ve got a Twister mat here.” Gale whispered into my ear making me grin wide.

“No way!” I exclaimed. He just nodded smiling. As soon as I grinned, Tyler, Tresean, Marcus and Jenny all glared at us harder.

“Who’s up for some Twister later?” Gale declared. Then all at the same time, every guy in the room shouted ‘Naked Twister!’ in sync. I nearly jumped right out of my chair. Then at the exact same time all the girls shouted ‘No!’ making everyone laugh.

“I thought you hated Twister, Gale.” Jenny stated. Gale had a pained look on his face. “I mean, everytime I tried to get you to play, you would just say no and go hide in your room.” She continued. The whole time she said that though, she stared at me.

“I wouldn’t play Twister here before because there was no Myka. She and I have a long history of Twister games. It wouldn’t be the same without her.” He stated looking at me. I saw a quick look of hurt cross Jenny’s face and started to sympathize with her until her face hardened and she glared at me with a pure look of hate.

“Well if I was Myka, then I would be feelingreal bad right now. Keeping my best friend from having fun...” She trailed off.
