*Gale's POV*
“Did you guys really have to knock me out?” I asked rubbing the back of my head where I had a pounding headache as I got out of the SUV.
“Well how else were we going to get you to agree to come back home? You would’ve stayed out all night searching for Myka if we let you.” Tresean said.
“Yeah but, did you really have to hit me in the head with a brick? You couldn’t have just gotten Marcus to do some weird warlock magic?” I asked turning toTyler. He just shrugged with a smile on his face.
“I thought the brick would be better. A bit of a wake up call. You don’t fight with girls, man. Bad things happen when you do.” He said. I felt like my heart stopped. By the silence and looks of everyone else, it was obvious they also understood whatTylerwas implying. If I hadn’t fought with Myka, she would still be here.
“That’s low, man. I know I stuffed up. Do you think I don’t know? It hurts to even think about how badly I stuffed everything up. And now I’m trying to get her back to fix everything again. I’m trying. I don’t just want her back. I need her. If we’re too late, and Myka… I can’t even think about that possibility. If that ever happens, I don’t know what I’m going to do. So how about we just stop arguing with each other, and find where Myka is. Once she’s home, you can beat the crap out of me if you want. But for right now, let’s just get her home.” I told him in a low voice and continued walking inside the mansion of a house. I felt everyone follow me.
“You know Gale; you’re not the only person here who has feelings for Myka other than friendship.”Tylercalled from behind.
“Yeah, I know.” I responded.
“We all know.” Ruby chimed in. All eyes turned to her.
“Oh come on!” She scoffed. “You guys have all made it so freaking obvious of your weird male competition where Myka’s the prize. Well guess what Tyler, Gale, Marcus and Tresean; you’re not the only people who care about Myka. I care about her too. She has become my best friend and I don’t make friends well. I usually end up eating them instead. And my best friend is not some prize you can just collect. She is a person and she has feelings too. We all know that she needs to decide who she has feelings for, and that she’s not going to be able to do that while being locked up and at the mercy of a Devil. So get all of your supernatural asses inside so that we can work out a plan to get Myka back, preferably alive and not in any way harmed except for maybe one or two broken nails at most.” And with that, Ruby stormed up the stairs and inside the house. Everyone was silent for a moment.
“Wow. When you told me that Ruby’s speeches were rare and something to see, you weren’t kidding.” I muttered giving Jenny a nudge as we all started following Ruby inside.
“Yeah, they are powerful. It also looks like we’ve got a new leader on Team Save Myka.” She replied.
“Team Save Myka?” I asked raising an eyebrow. She shrugged.
“Well we can’t exactly say Team Good. Not all of us here are good. Like Ruby just said, she eats her friends.” She said.
“You guys do know I can hear you right?” Ruby called from inside. When we stopped still for a moment Ruby shouted again, louder this time. “Get your damned asses in here right now!” We all ran inside.
*Ruby's POV*
Finally they all scrambled inside taking seats on the furniture, well all except Gale. He was pacing around the back of the room as I stood in the middle facing everyone.
“Alright it’s obvious what we now need to do. Find where they’re keeping Myka.” I began.
“And how do you suppose we do that Fang Girl? It’s not like Kaycee’s just going to tell us where Myka is. Maybe if we ask her nicely, but I’m betting that we’d just get our heads ripped off and blood sucked dry.” Marcus interrupted, deadpan. I scowled at him and inwardly at the butterflies the use of my long-time nickname occurred inside of me. Now is not the time for that Ruby.
