#24 Little Me

We were driving down the highway in my best friend Trish's new convertible car. There were four people in the back, and me in the passenger seat with Trish driving. She started to pick up the speed.

"Trish, slow down a bit." I said.

"Relax Natalie, live a little." She punched my arm playfully.

She zoomed through a red light, a big-rig almost hit us.

"Seriously, you are going to get us killed." I said, but she didn't hear me. She turned up the radio.

"Let's be risky," said a guy in the back.

"Should we do our usual game?" She said while looking in the mirror.

They all cheered behind me.

"Ok, let's go." She turned suddenly.

"Where are we going? What's the usual?"

"You will see." She smiled.

"Trish, I have to get home, I'm already 15 minutes late."

"Girl, you are 16 now, you can do whatever you want." She went over some train tracks, and she pulled out the car keys. We made a sudden stop.

"And now, we wait." She said.

"Are you insane?" I asked.

Her boyfriend in the back answered for her, "Nah, we do this all the time. It's really fun, gets your adrenaline rushing."

"I don't know if I'm-"

"Ooo! Look! A train!"

I turned my head and saw a small head light rapidly getting bigger.

"You should turn on the car now." I said hitting her arm without taking my eyes off the incoming train.

"No, you have to wait just a bit longer." She smiled.

The train was getting really close. The horn was going off. My heart was thumping and the palms of my hands were getting sweaty.

"Start the car!" I yelled.

When the train was pretty close she yelled "Ok!"

She put the keys in and turned. The car didn't start.

"Go!" I yelled.

"I'm trying! It won't start!"

Oh my god... I'm in a nightmare

The horn was so loud I felt like I was going deaf. The light was so close, treading on full speed.

All I could remember is the sound of our screaming and metal scraping. I gasped-

---------------------------------------

I barely opened my eyes, I was lying face down in some grubble. I looked around and saw the most horrifying seen that anyone could ever experience. The car was scattered in many pieces, with lots of blood stained all over the place. Body parts of my friends were around me. Trish was lying on my left, with glass in her face and her body in an unatural position. Her friends all looked similair around me. I was speechless. My friends were all...gone...

The train was stopped and people were getting out, also horrified by the brutal scene unfolded around them. I saw sirens flashing and wailing toward us.

"Help..." I said without a voice.

I tried with all of my effort to get up.

"Help!" I said a little louder.
