#35 Fairy-tales II
I was so excited that I was shaking.
Before I tell you my story, here is some background information. My family isn't very rich, being with a single mom. She is a hairdresser, so we don't have a huge amount of money. We live in a small town in Minnesota and our town isn't very populated, so how can we expect a lot of people wanting a haircut?
But anyway, I just turned sixteen and my mom gave me the best gift ever. With most of the money she has earned for the last two years, she saved up to buy me a plane ticket to go to Paris. She even got ahold of one pass to go to the Fairy Tale Convention II. Many stars are going to be there like Lana, Bex, Sean, Jared, and Emilie.... But especially Robbie. I am fangirling so hard. I never thought that I would be able to meet him.
Anyway, I was in my taxi, traveling through the beautiful city of Paris.
"So what convention are you going to again?" asked the driver.
"Oh, it's this convention about the tv show 'Once Upon A Time'. Have you heard about it?"
"Only a little." He said in his heavy French accent.
I told him about the show, well as much as I could.
"Madame, we are here." He pulled up in the drop off area of the convention center.
"Oh wow." I stared up at the big building. I thanked the driver and handed him the money. I stepped out of the car, fixing my Peter Pan button. I found the main doors surrounded by many other fans waiting outside the door. Once they opened the doors, the sea of oncers screamed and ran into the convention.
The first event was the interview, so everyone went into the theater. Unfortunately, I didn't have a pass for that, so I just looked around the gift shop or watch the monitors. After two hours of sitting in the uncomfortable chairs and talking to other fans who couldn't afford that package deal, a voice came on for an announcement.
"All people with a pass to meet the stars, please start to line up. They will be arriving in the designated area soon."
I got lost, so by the time I found the line, it was pretty full. Luckily there was still a lot of other people who got lost too so I wasn't the last person.
I tried to look ahead of the swarm of screaming girls and guys, I only saw snippets of the waving celebrities.
It took me forever to reach the front of the line. I could see Robbie a couple steps ahead of me taking a photo with a little girl.
"May I see your pass?" The tall security guard asked.
"Sure." I handed him the next lace.
Robbie looked over and saw that I was next in line. He waved at me. Oh my god I almost died. I waved back, I probably looked like a psycho.
"Um we have a problem." He said.
"What do you mean?" I looked at Robbie then back at the security guard. Robbie was staring at us.
"It seems that your pass is a fake. It should have a code on the back with 630 but yours doesn't even start with numbers. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to ask you to leave the line." He handed me back my pass and undid the line divided, letting me step out. Robbie was confused as to why I was leaving. I just kept my head down, not wanting to show everyone my breaking heart.
I exited the building and sat down on the floor of the empty side of the building. I was alone so I knew that it was ok to then break out in tears. Not only was I sad that I didn't get to meet my idols, but also that my mom saved up so much money just to be ripped off my some scum bag. I buried my head into my knees and sobed. I must have looked like an idiot standing there for so long in front of everyone, in front of Robbie...
Ugh, that ruined my day so far. I was going to call my mom and tell her but then I decided for her sanity that it would be better if I lied about my experience. I sat there for a good half hour decided what to tell her on the phone, still very upset about the whole situation. I heard a door squeak open near me. I saw Robbie walk out on his phone, not even looking up. I stood up.
"Oh my god, Robbie, hi." I straightened out my outfit.
"Oh hello there love, why did you leave so soon? Why are you out here alone?" He stepped closer. My heart began to beat even faster.
"It's stupid really, the pass I had was a fake, so basically I came out here all the way from the US for no reason." I shrugged.
"H- Have you been crying?" He asked.
Shit, my makeup must be everywhere.
"Oh, um no, well yeah, I just mad and flustered about everything."
"I'm sorry about that, I truly am, here I'm not supposed to do this but here." He pulled out his phone and took a picture with me.
"Wow," I said starstruck, "Um how much do I owe you?" I pulled out my wallet, I know its pretty expensive to take a picture with the cast members.
"Um how about you owe me something other than money, maybe like a cellphone number? You know so that I can see if you make it back to your hotel alright."
"Oh, yeah, of course." Oh. My. God. Did he seriously just ask for my number.
We swapped phones and entered our personal numbers in. He glanced down at it.
"Awesome, well I should head back in side. Once again so sorry about what happened, remember to text me when u get back."
"Ok, well it was really nice meeting you Robbie, hopefully we can run into each other another time." I blushed.
I held out my hand to shake his.
"I'm sorry, I'm a hugger." He dodged the handshake and went straight for a hug. We both chuckled as he walked toward the door.
"See ya later...uh " he looked down at his phone, "Mary."
"Bye." I grinned like an idiot shot by cuspids arrow. I have his number but I doubt that I will ever see him in person again.
*********One Year later********
"Well that was a wonderful dinner Mrs. Kay." said my mom.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it." Robbie's mom smiled.
"Well Mary, we should start heading home. Say your good byes." The two adults headed out the front door. with his arm wrapped around me, Robbie escorted me to the door. Just before I was about to step out, he swung the door closed about half way.
"Robbie, what are you-"
He planted a kiss on my surprised lips.
"Oh." I smiled. That was my first kiss... ever.
"Sorry, I have been wanting to do that for awhile."
"Oh no need to apologize." I laughed.
"I know this sounds bad, but I'm kinda happy that you got ripped off of that convention pass, because if not, I would have just taken one picture with you and had you move on." He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Don't worry, I'm glad that my pass was bad, or else I wouldn't be where I am today." I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"It's crazy to think where love will unexpectedly show up."
"Even at nerdy conventions?" I stared into his eyes.
"Yep," He chuckled, "Even at nerdy conventions."
This for magicmary. Sorry if it was cheesy lol, it's like 2:30 am and I had a five hour rehearsal today so my brain is almost dead haha. I just felt the need to upload haha .
