#46 The Bedtime Story

I sat up in bed, not being able to breath out of my nose. Ugh, I hate being sick. It's the worst. I looked over at my husband who's chest was rising and falling. I tried closing my eyes. Usually the rocking of the ship helps, but tonight it was very stormy so it was rocking a little harder than normal. Plus, the loud booms of thunder kept scaring me. I found a semi comfortable spot and my eyes fluttered down. The second they closed, I heard:

"Helllllllp! Monster!" yelled my six year old daughter.

I sat up and threw off the covers.

"I will get it."

I looked over and he was awake.

"I will get her." He said.

"Thanks darling." I said as he kissed my forehead.

I sat in bed trying to find that comfortable spot again, but I just couldn't. I decided to get up and check in on Alisa. I walked down the hallway and looked in through the small space next to the slightly opened door.

"Shhhh it's ok princess." He rocked her back and forth.

Alisa looked like she was just about done crying.

"Okay, how about you get back to bed, and in the morning, I will let you steer the ship." He tickled her tummy.

"Okay! Stop daddy! Haha!" She squealed and giggled. She is so adorable. She crawled out of his arms and got under her covers.

"Will you be alright pumpkin?" He asked.

"Can you tell me a story?"

"Which one lass?"

"About how you and mommy met."

"Oh that one?" She nodded, "Alright, alright. Once upon a time, a young lad named Killian was walking through a town celebration with his brother..."

*Killian's POV*

"Liam wait!" I ran to catch up with him.

"C'mon Killian. We are going to miss the celebration." He grabbed my arm and hurried me along.

"Ugh, why do we have to go to this? I don't see the point."

"The king's daughter is looking for young boy to be paired with his daughter. You are the same age as her, so maybe she might pick you."

"But there are two problems with that Liam."

He stopped and fixed my fancy coat.

"And what is that?"

"We are only 16, which I think is way too young to think about marriage, and Princess Diane is a brat-"

"A little less noise, brother. You can get in trouble for speaking negatively about the princess."

"What? It's the truth." I rolled my eyes.

We walked up the grand palace steps. We entered the grand hallway where princess Diane and the King were sitting in large thrones. Liam and I waited in a VERY long line just to be examined by the royalty. When we were a few people behind them, Princess Diane began to fuss.

"Daddy, I am hungry. I want pastries, now!" She whined. God was she awful.

"What ever you want princess." He rang a bell. I looked to my left and saw two women come with some types of cakes followed by a younger girl with some chocolates stacked in a pyramid.
