#51 The Choice

I was by the creek washing the bowls the lostboys were just eating out of. It was a lovely night and the moonlight lit up the forest.

"Need a hand?" I heard behind me.

"Oh, no thanks Pan. I'm good." I smiled and kept washing.

"Do you need anything?" He asked.

"Maybe some company." I shrugged.

Pan came over and leaned against a slanted rock next to me.

"Raven, You know you really don't need to clean these."

"I know, I just want to. It makes me feel better, like I'm paying you back for letting me stay here."

"What ever makes you happy." He came right by my side and joined me while washing. He looked down into the creek and smiled. While we both scrubbed, I kept glancing over at him and he kept smiling. Pan NEVER smiles.

"Why are you so smiley tonight?" I asked.

"Oh, no reason," His eyes flickered when he looked at me.

His look caught me completely off guard causing me to fall straight into the creek. Ugh, I'm such a klutz. I came up to the surface and pushed my hair back with both hands. Pan was practically dying with laughter.

"Stop laughing at me." I chuckled with him.

"You should have seen your face!" He busted out with another round of laughter.

"Ha-Ha. Very funny," I said with a straight face, "Now help me out please."

I held up my hand.

"Alright dearie" He chuckled and grabbed my hand.

I pulled him right down into the water with me. He popped up right next to me gasping for air and swooshing his hair over to the side.

"You did not just do that." He grinned.

"Oh I did." I matched his face, "What are you going to do about it?"

An expression of revenge came across his face. He raised his arms and the water began to build it.

I started swimming away from him as fast as I could. I looked back at him.

"Don't you d-"

Before I knew it the wave crahsed right on top of me.

I came up and swam toward him with a glare.

"That wasn't fair. You have magic." I punched his arm pathetically.

"Sorry love, you messed with the wrong boy." He raised his eyebrow. Ugh, I feel weak everytime he does that. But I mean, what girl wouldn't?

We kind of just stood there in the water laughing at each other. When we settled down, Pan and I were very close in distance.

"Raven?"

"Yes Pan?"

"Call me Peter." He flashed a crooked smile. Oh my god, is he flirting with me?!?

"Ok, Peter, is that all you wanted to say?" I chuckled.

"Um no, actually I was wondering-"

Someone cleared their throat. Our heads shot to the side where Felix was standing, looking down at us. Peter tensed up and backed up a couple of feet.

"I know that look, what's wrong?" asked Peter.

"You have a visitor." He crossed his arms.

Peter looked at me almost apologetically. I nodded to show him I understand. He hoppped out of the water and walked quickly back to the camp.
