Anabelle's POV
It was around 5 in the morning. I was downstairs going through my boxes that were scattered everywhere. I couldn't sleep since I had fallen into a deep sleep once I got to Logan's house yesterday afternoon. I sat there on the cold floor, going through a personal box of mine that included all the photos that I have of my family, friends, and myself, along with some other memorable things.
I took out a blue cap that had a sticker of my dad's favorite team, well, the family's favorite soccer team. I was about 14 years old when he gave me this cap. I cherished it ever since because I was much closer to him than I was my mother. When I was packing to move here to LA, this is probably one of the first things that I grabbed and put in my bags. I couldn't have my father come with me, so I took a part of him.
The next thing I grabbed was a photo of me and my youngest brother, Angel. He is 18 now. This picture is one of the good moments that I had with him. One of the last moments too. I couldn't bring him to LA with me since he was not 18 yet, but if I could of, I would of, and he'd be next to me right now.
Before I could get emotional again, I set the photo down and grabbed another that included me and my family. My mom, my dad, Gerber, Angel, and me. I smiled remembering the day we took this photo. It was a beach day. We were all happy and enjoying the day as a family. There were no hard feelings and everything was way beyond amazing. But things don't always last that way, now do they?
"Anabelle Cassity" I heard a familiar voice say from upstairs. I saw Logan standing there shirtless and his briefs.
"Logan Paul" I said with a smile, setting down the photo in my hand. I hear him chuckle and he walks down the stairs, coming to my direction.
"What are you doing up so early, babe? It was getting cold in bed." Logan says bending down and planting a kiss on my cheek. I try hard to cover my blushing.
"You treat me like your girlfriend." I say playfully pushing him away. "And put on some pants. No one want to see that uh...you know." I added with a small giggle of embarrassment.
Logan quickly walks over to the merch store and digs through some things. I look back to my box and start going through more stuff. After a few minutes, Logan comes back with some joggers on and still no shirt. I accept it though.
Logan's POV
I sit next to Anabelle as she roams through the small box of special items to her. I watch her closely, noticing that she has a connection to each object in that box. It makes me curious to know the story to each thing, but I say nothing and let her have her own little moment.
I see that Anabelle takes out all her photos and sets them aside. I grab them with caution, being careful, and look through them. I see some photos with her friends. She looks different.
"How old were you here?" I ask not taking my eyes off a photo where she is posing with 2 other girls. Ana looks at the photo and sighs, forcing a smile.
"About 15." She goes back to going through the box and I still look at the photo, almost trying to assume the story behind it. She was much thicker at 15. Still cute. Beautiful, actually. I notice that her smile in the photo seems to be more real than any other photo I've seen.
Why?
I go through the other photos and see a photo with a guy. She still looks around the age of 15. He looks to be a little older. He has longish dark hair and a Joker smile. His face doesn't look real at all. It looks almost like a mask, covering who he truly is.
"Who is this?" I ask showing Anabelle the photo. "Old boyfriend?" I say playfully and Ana smiles, shaking her head.
"I don't even know why I have the photo still. It's just some old friend that was never really a friend." She says and takes the photo, ripping it in half. The photo splits younger Anabelle and the boy apart. I can't help but wonder if he ever hurt her to have her where she is now.
I see other photos that have Ana and her brother, that I have officially met but I know exist, and some family photos. I smile seeing how happy she is in the photos. But my smile slowly starts to fade as I see her change in photos. Every family photo she grows thinner. Her smile grows less. Her happiness is no longer there.
What happened?
I set down the photos and place my hands on my lap. Anabelle notices my actions and looks over to me with a bit of concern.
"What's wrong?" she asked grabbing the photos, looking through them, and then placing them back in the box.
"Ana, what is the story with your family?" I ask. Anabelle grows stiff and looks away, looks anywhere but my eyes.
"Why do you want to know?" she asks.
"Because you never told me about them and you never talk about them. As far as I know, it's only your brother here in LA with you." I said. Ana looks at me with sad eyes.
The room is quiet. Not even our breathing is heard.
"Everything does not always stay amazing. But it is possible for everything to always stay like total hell." Ana says looking down at her hands. " I was closer to my dad growing up and my mom, well, she was something else. I have a little brother and he is still living with them. His name is Angel. Then there is my older brother, Gerber." she says and takes a deep breath. "When I was 15, word got about about something to my parents and..it was horrible. They didnt know how to handle it. My dad became an alcoholic and my mom started to become way beyond abusive. Angel, he was never a problem. But he was too young to even do anything at the time. Gerber, on the older hand, was messing around and getting his behind beat all the time. But was always hit worse. " Her hands rub against her arm nervously. "People thought I was a slut and that I was sleeping around with any guy I found. My parents believed it, somehow. Gerber thought it was total shit and Angel just stayed in his room. That is where my bulimia started to get worse. My parents actions grew worse as well and I just couldnt take it. " Her eyes meet mine. "So Gerber and me packed up the day I turned 18 and we got a plane here to LA. Angel couldnt come along, he was still too young to be in our hands. But Gerber came, along with his girlfriend and his son who is almost about to be a year old. Isnt that cool? I had someone with me. Now I am here. Sitting with someone that I- " Anabelle stops and looks away with a small smile.
I took in all her words about her family. She had a hard life. But towards the end, she added me in the picture and made it seem like something I cant explain.
"That you what, Anabelle Cassity?" I said with a smile on my face. Ana looks at me and gets on her knees, switching her position from having her legs crossed. I look at her as her hands cup my face softly. She leans in and in the matter of seconds, our lips are connecting. I pull her onto my lap and her arms wrap around my neck, pulling me closer as we share a soft, sweet, kiss.
Anabelle pulls away and looks deep into my eyes as her finger tips run along my cheek. I take in her touch like if it was the last thing I was doing on this planet.
"Now, I am sitting with someone that I have learned to love." she says. Her words hit something in my heart, it makes me feel a feeling that I've never felt before.
"You love me?" I say and Ana chuckles.
"Yes, I do. I am trusting you with my life, basically. " she says and places her forehead against mine, closing her eyes. "I'm also trusting you with my heart." I hear. "So dont break it."
