Never Alone {Cheshire x Reader}

You sat on a broken down stone as you kicked your feet back and forth through the water of the abyss.
It was dark and lonely at first, and it still is, but that was until you met Cheshire. He opened up your world and made it brighter and not so lonely.

"{y/n}-Chan!" Cheshire called out with a yawn.

You jumped at the surprise of the cat boy who appeared out of nowhere right beside you.

"Jeez, Cheshire, you need to stop sneaking up like that on me!" You exclaimed as your heart beat quickened.

You hadn't seen Cheshire in a few days and it made you so unbelievably happy to have him now right in front of you.

"Sorry, {y/n}-chan. What are you doing anyways?" He asked as he now began to float up around you.

You smiled and continued to kick your feet back and forth in the water. "Nothing, until this about g cat came around and ruined my peace." You said jokingly.

Cheshire frowned and sat back down beside you. "You find me annoying,
{y/n}-chan?" He asked.

"Of course! Any girl would be annoyed if some guy kept appearing out of nowhere and interrupting he quiet time." You continued to joke, not realizing how much effect your words had on the boy.

"Oh, well then, I suppose it's about time for me to go for another nap." Cheshire faked yawn as he began to vanish. "Take care, {y/n}."

You quit moving your feet and just sat there alone in the dark silence. Cheshire never called you just by your name. He always added "chan" to it. He also never said "take care" before either. You were confused, but decided to think nothing of it. It was probably just you overthinking things, again.

Days and days had passed and there was still no sign of Cheshire. Normally he would still drop by even if it was only for a minute.
You began to worry if what you really had said upset him. You didn't actually find the cat boy annoying, it was just that he popped by whenever he wanted. You actually liked cheshire. More like you longed for him. Someone who could distract you from being all alone in the abyss, and make the dark days past quicker.

You laid across the rock where you had last met with Cheshire and sighed. You missed his company. As you curled up into a ball hugging your knees to your chest, you cried. It had been a long time since the last time you cried. It had been weeks now since you had last seen Cheshire, and in the real world it would have been years. Though it felt as if it had been years.

"I'm sorry..." you managed to choke out. "I never..meant to hurt you...I love you, Cheshire. Don't leave me behind." You sniffled as you buried your head into your knees as you hugged them tighter against you.

"I would never leave you, {y/n}-chan. I could never leave you." Came the voice you had been longing to hear.

"C-Cheshire!?" You jumped up to see the cat boy floating just a right in front of you. A blush keeps across your face as you thought about your words you had confessed earlier. "I've told you this before but," you wiped the tears from your eyes, "you really should t sneak up on me like that." You said grinning up at him.

Cheshire smiled and floated down enough until his feet gracefully touched down to the stone. His long puppet like paws caressed your cheeks lightly as he softly kisses you on your lips, before pulling you into an embrace.

"I'll never leave your side again. Even if I become unbearably annoying, I'll always be by your side." He declared with all seriousness.

You giggled and hugged him tighter. "That sounds wonderful, Cheshire. I look forward to the days where you will always be with me."
