Cake {Xerxes Break x Reader}

You quickly ran in to the Rainsworth manor balancing as many paper bags full of groceries as you can. You made your way to the kitchen as quickly and quietly as you could, trying not to run into a certain albino man.

"What are you doing?~" you hear a voice coo near your ear.

You jumped and swung around facing the one person you didn't want to see. "Break you idiot! Don't sneak up on me like that!" You shouted trying to keep hold of all the groceries.

"What do you have there?" Break asked trying to peak into the bags, but you turned them away from his view.

"Nothing of importance. Just somethings Gilbert had me run out and go get." You lied.

"Oh well, boring~" he sang as he began to walk away.

You watched to make sure he left before running into the kitchen. You sat the grocery bags down on the counter and let out a sigh of relief. Why is it always the worst times that the clown shows himself.

You started to unpack the groceries from the bag, making sure you had grabbed everything you needed.

"Whew! I did it!" You said to yourself as you overlooked your list to make sure you had everything.

It was Break's birthday and knowing him, you knew he wouldn't tell you what it is he wanted, and from what you could tell he probably never even had a proper birthday, or even birthday cake. You planed to make this year special for him!

Gilbert had came in to the kitchen to help you bake the cake with Oz close by to be the test taster, as Sharon made sure to keep Break busy. Reim was in charge of the decorations, with Alice somewhat helping out...best she could. So far though, everything was turning out exactly as it should!

Before long You pulled the cake out of the oven as Gilbert got all the cake decorations laid out and called everyone in to help decorate.

"Do you think he will like it?" You asked Oz as you stood back to admire a work well done.

"Of course he would! He loves anything his {y/n} does for him!" He said as he picked up the cake and carried it out to the table were everyone was gathered around.

"Okay," you started, "I told Sharon to make sure to bring him around by 3:00, so they will be here anytime." As you said that you heard footsteps coming down the hall, and you quickly ran into place beside everyone else.

Y could feel your heart start to pound as they footsteps finally reached the door and your pulse quickened even more.

"SURPRISE!!" You all shouted as the door swung open to reveal Sharon and a surprised Break.

Happy birthday, Break!" Sharon said and guided him over to the cake everyone worked hard on decorating. "This was {y/n}'s idea, so be sure to thank her later." Sharon whispered with a wink that made you blush as Break looked up with a smile.

It was nightfall and Oscar had come to join the party, making everyone drunk and passed out. You stood out on the terrace looking over the garden when you heard someone walk over beside you.

"So, what did you think? Did you like it?" You asked. You waited for some kind of joke to be made, but one never came.

"I loved it, {y/n}." He said looking you in the eye with a warm smile that made your heart beat quicken.

"I-I, uh...." you didn't know what to say, you weren't expecting this sort of outcome, but you were cut short when a pair of warm lips touched yours in a gentle, yet loving, kiss.

"H-happy birthday!...." you squeaked out of shock, absolutely not sure what to say anymore.

With a chuckle he wrapped his arms around you in a warm embrace as he buried his head into the crook of your neck. "Thank you." He whispered.
