I heard the doorbell ring and rushed to open the front door. I found Julie standing there, grinning at me, her dark brown eyes litting up.
I smiled back at her "Hey Jules, come in" I stepped aside and she walked in. I closed the door behind her and gave her a tight hug, Jenna as well.
"Hey Jess, how are things?" Julie asked, raising her eyebrows and taking a seat on the couch, followed by me and Jenna. She was reffering to Luke and I moving in.
"Well it's only been a day, not that long" I shrugged "But good, I guess"
She grinned "I have some great news"
Jen and I both shot her a look full of expectancy. Julie stared at us for a while, looking a bit nervous.
"Ashton and I decided to move in together too!" she beamed finally, staring at us and anxiously waiting to see our reactions.
A wave of surprise washed over me, but was quickly replaced with a genuin happiness for my best friend "That's really great news! I'm so happy for you!"
"Where?" Jenna asked, a grin forming on her face.
"Well Ashton and his parents used to live in some house and when they moved out, they couldn't sell it. So we're going to move into that house" Julie explained.
"Let me know if you need help moving the furninture" I said with a slight laugh.
"Will do" Julie grinned again.
"Oh" Jenna exclaimed "I almost forgot! Remember Mandy?" she looked at me.
I nodded "What about Mandy?"
"Well...I accidentaly ran into her, and she told me to tell you she's throwing a beach party and you're invited" she searched her purse, pulling out a piece of card "And she also said the rest of us should come too"
I took the card, examining it "It's thus saturday" I muttered, mostly to myself.
"Well?" Jen raised her eyebrows at us "How about it?"
I thought for a little while. A beach party sounded kinda fun. Besides, we had nothing planned anyway "I say: what do we wear?"
Jen chuckled, turning to Julie "What about you?"
Julie shrugged "It could be fun, I guess"
"Perfect! Now, how about we go shopping?" Jen grinned and Julie and I nodded without giving it a second thought.
We went to the mall to buy new outfits for the party. Each of us tried on clothes, while the other two commented on how she looked. We spent hours trying on clothes, but we had a good time. Eventually, we picked out some oitfits that suited us best. I settled for a beige lace dress, which I was going to wear with some beige sandals I had at home. Jen bought jean shorts and a comfortable, neon coloured blouse and Julie picked out a white dress with blue and red horizontal stripes that really suited her.
After shopping, Julie took us to see the house she and Ashton were moving into. The house was actually pretty big, concidering it would only be the two of them. It had three bedrooms and a huge living room. Some furniture was already there, the furninture Ashton's parents left there after they moved out, as Julie explained. It was in great shape, concidering no one had lived here in a while. The walls in the living room were soft, creamy color and the bedrooms were in baby blue. It was even already carpeted. Julie and Ashton didn't have a lot of work to do here.
"This house is beautiful" I stated, still looking around "But isn't it a little much for just the two of you?"
Julie shrugged "I guess. But why buy a house when you already have one?"
"Anyway" she continued "Most of the furniture we need is already here, so we'll both just pack up our things, like clothes and toiletries, and that's all there is to it!"
I felt my phone buzzed in my pocket and I pulled it out, muttering "Just a sec"
"Hi" I said softly, answering the call.
"Hey, where are you? I finished band practice and you weren't home" I heard Lukes voice over the phone.
"Miss me already?" I teased "I'm with Jen and Jules, we just went shopping. I'll be home in about twenty minutes" I said "Should I pick up dinner on the way back?"
I could hear the grin in his voice "Sure"
"Okay, see you soon. Bye" I hung up and turned to Julie and Jenna. I screamed surprised when I saw they were right behind me, both staring at me with goofy grins. I blushed slightly "Have you been here the whole time?"
They nodded, chuckling. I rolled my eyes "Well then you heard that I have to go"
"See you tomorrow" Jen gave me a tight hug, and so did Julie "Bye"
I unlocked the front door of my apartment and came in. Luke was on the couch, surfing some channels on tv. He looked up to see me.
"What's for dinner?" he asked.
"Nice to see you too" I said sarcastically while locking the front door again.
When I turned around, Luke was right in front of me, staring at me sighnificantly and turning the corners of his lips to a smile. He pecked my lips quickly and raised his eyebrows "Better?"
I shook my head "You're unbelievable"
He chuckled. I headed for the kichen, I turned to look at him, smirking "Pizza"
"I love you" he exclaimed.
"Yeah, yeah" I gigled.
I picked up two plates, placing a slice of pizza on each of them to heat up in the microwave. Luke wrapped his arms around my waist from behind and I looked up, my brown eyes meeting his sky blue ones.
"But seariously, I love you" he cooed.
I smiled "I know. I love you too"
