I found my way to my little room, stumbling in. I tried my hardest to gently set down the glass I was holding. Quickly stripping down, and putting on clothing from the box. A pair of black sweatpants that were cinched at the bottom, and a white loose long sleeved shirt that was just above my belly button. Picking up the bottle, I began drinking from it once more.
Cain, I'm gonna go see Cain. I think he let the party early, which makes no sense as he literally dragged me through those doors earlier. Walking out of my room, I tried to seem as sober as I possibly could. Several people walked by being, saying hellos. To which I just nodded. Finally I reached his room.
Before I could knock, I could hear shuffling around. Confirming his presence. Knocking loudly on the door, I waited impatiently. I could hear him scrambling, and whispering. This peaked my intoxicated curiosity, as the door opened I barged into the room. My brother stood in front of me, only in his boxers. And Paige, laid in his bed covering herself with his sheets.
It took a moment for us all the process what was going on, "Um, I'm gonna go." I slowly backed out of the room. Hitting the doors panel, it slid shut and I took off running down the hall. I wasn't mad at Cain, oh no. He's an adult and he can do whatever he wants. I was just extremely embarrassed by that moment.
I ran past people who were just now leaving the party, I took no notice to the looks I was given nor those whom I was passing. I stumbled every now and then, turning through corridors. Opening a door, I found myself staring into the dark night atop of the bases roof. The cold air hit my hot skin. Making my way to the edge, I sat down hanging my legs over the edge. Watching the sky.
The base looked so peaceful. No one running around, the chirping of bugs surrounding the area sang. And personally I felt like I was floating on a boat, most likely from all the alcohol in my system. I began to hum a soft tune, enjoying this moment.
The door I had come through creaked open, I paid no mind to it. Continuing with whatever song was stuck in my head. Someone sat besides me, I faced them expecting it to be my brother. But it wasn't. It was Poe Dameron, the one and only. I rolled my eyes at his cheeky grin. Sipping on my bottle.
"What's got a pretty girl like you alone up here?" Poe teased, trying to grab my bottle. I pulled it away like a child with a pout on my face. Taking more from it. He just laughed breathlessly. It may be all the tonics I've had, and this bottle. But Poe Dameron, could possibly be one of the most beautiful men I've ever seen.
"You shouldn't me calling me pretty when you,' I poked his chest with the mouth of the bottle, "have a girlfriend." His face contorted in confusion.
"Girlfriend? I don't have a girlfriend?" I made a face at his comment, he ripped the bottle away from me. My eyes widened, I could only see half of his face but I could see him smirking. He started sipping from the glass.
"Yeah, the one you left me to go hang out with tonight!" I accused him, I mean he did leave me all alone. He nearly choked on the wine. Before I could make a snarky comment about his drinking ability, he looked me dead in the eyes.
"That's a new recruit for my squadron." Oh. He looked at me oddly, "Why? Were you, jealous?" Poe teased me, of course I wasn't! Just a little, if we're being honest here. I turned away.
"And what would I have to be jealous for, Poe Dameron?" I asked with a strong voice. He laughed again at me. He wrapped his one arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer to him.
"It's cold out, you'll catch a cold with your feet being bare." He stated. For a moment I stayed there, enjoying his warmth and the small touch we shared. Until a sober realization hit me of what was going on.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa." I pushed his arm off of me, not before snatching the bottle back. "One, you're not my father. Two, you're not my brother. And thirdly, you're definitely not my boyfriend. You don't need to take care of me." Making an attempt to stand up, my legs wouldn't listen. They felt like jelly, I rested back into my original position acting as if nothing had just happened.
Poe laughed at me, putting his arm back around me.
"Just shut up, and enjoy the moment will you kid." With that being said, I rested my head onto his shoulder. Doing as I was told, we fell into a comfortable silence. Listening to the bugs sing, and the light wind dance through the greenery of the planet. It felt like there wasn't a war going on, it felt like there wasn't any fear or hatred in the galaxy. I felt so right in this moment, so right here in the pilots arms.
Not too long of taking in the moment, I drifted off. Falling asleep on Poe Dameron's shoulder.
