The morning sun shone through the blinds of the windows. Stirring me up from my slumber. My head was resting on a muscular chest. Sighing contently, I tried to form myself closer to the body I clung to.
"Someone's finally awake." His voice mumbled, a low chuckle made his chest shake.
"How long have you been awake?" I groaned. Rolling away to stretch, I could feel the bed shifting underneath Poe. I looked up at his face as he stared at me.
"One, it's rude to stare. And two, it's also rude to not answer." Sitting up, I started to pull away the sheets from my body that I hadn't realised was far too warm for my liking. Due to wearing my sleeping clothes, and the heat from his body.
Before I could remove myself from the bed, an arm wrapped around my waist pulling me back down quickly. Huffing I tried pulling Poe off me.
"To answer your question at least an hour. And I was staring because your hair looks funny right now." Dameron muttered against my head. My eyes snapped wide, shoving the man away from me. He began to laugh. Scooting off the bed, his laughter died.
"Paki, come back here right now." I looked down at him, stern eyes looked back up at me.
"No."
Walking away, I gathered a change of clothes and prepared for a shower.
"That's an order from your Commander." Looking back at him, he was now propped up on his elbow watching me.
"No."
Opening the door to my bathroom, I placed the clothing on top of the counter. Turning around to the shower, twisting the nozzle on hot. Strolling back into the room, Poe was still propped up watching my every move. Raising my eyebrows at him, waiting for whatever words he may say.
But nothing came out.
"Well, I intend to clean up. I'd appreciate if I could have some privacy." I smiled sweetly at him, he rolled his eyes. Pushing himself up out of the bed. The sheets fell from his torso. And with all my pride in my throat, I dared not react to how he looked early in the morning. He, like myself, had scars from his own fights. Old and new. It made him even more beautiful in my eyes.
"Like what you see? Dessi?" He teased, catching my wandering eyes.
"I was staring because your hair looks funny." I retorted, crossing my arms across my chest. Dameron raised his eyebrows at my, walking slowly to me.
"Really? Because last I knew," He spoke low closing the distance between us, "my hair was on the top of my head."
Biting on the inside of my cheek, I stared at him not backing down. However, his classic cocky smirk found its way once more from my silence. So slowly he leaned down, kissing me gently. My hands betraying me, instinctively wandered up his chest resting at the base of his collarbone.
Pulling away, earthy brown eyes pierced sky blue ones. Pulling himself away, he gathered his things. Standing there watching him, I was lost in thought. Here nor there.
"I'll be seeing you for breakfast I'm assuming?" He asked over his shoulder as he pulled his shirt on. The pilot turned to look back at me, I just nodded. He cracked a half smile at me, and a warmth spread in my core at the sight of it.
He made his way to the door, "Paki." I raised my eyebrow.
"Come here and give me a kiss would yah." This time I smirked, slow steps moved towards him.
"Is that an order, Commander?" I questioned with light sarcasm.
"Yes, it is." He looked down on me as I reached him. Reaching on my tip toes, I kissed him one last time. Slyly reaching my hand to my door panel. Pressing the button, the door opened swiftly.
"See you at breakfast." I mumbled against his lips, pushing him out the door smiling. Pressing the button, closing the door once more. A sigh followed by soft chuckle sounded on the other side of the door.
Smiling to myself, thinking to myself. Wondering how I got to this point. Melting in the hand of some man. And if I were totally honest, I didn't mind it to much with that man being Poe.
A deep breath released itself from my lungs. Making it half way across my floor there was a knock at my door.
I take it back. That man needs to leave me alone, walking back to the rooms door I sighed irritated.
"What part of I'm taking a shower, and I'll see you-" the door opened revealing my brother. My eyes widened seeing him standing there.
"Cain?" I peered at him, "Wasn't expecting you to pay such an early visit?" I questioned my brother.
His eyebrow raised, "Sorry, were you expecting a different pilot. Or, is he already gone?" Now my eyebrow raised, a little taken aback at Cain's words. He made his way into the room.
Closing the door, I sat on the chair at my desk while he occupied a spot on the edge of my bed. He looked around awkwardly, an amused smile found its way to my lips.
It didn't matter how old or big he's grown, he always acted like a little boy so out of place in an adults life. I could picture him as he would be too, thumbs twiddling, legs kicking up and down. Not knowing what to do.
"What's up Cain?" I questioned, breaking the ice. His eyes snapped to me.
"What's up Cain? More like, what's up Dessi? Why did I see Poe leaving your room?" He began.
"Same reason more or less I saw you in your boxers and Paige under your sheets. More of the lesser part though being both of us were fully clothed." I stated, he flushed at the embarrassing night.
"Is this the part where you give me the brotherly speech of how you'll kick his arse, and he's not right for you? Or he's my Commander how could you?" I teased, standing up to go turn off the faucet that was still running
"Yes, and no."
"Oh?"
"No, in the part that's not what I was going to say. Yes, in the way I was going to encourage you to do so." He answered honestly, looking at my confused expression.
"What? I see the way he looks at you, and you him. I saw him carry you to your room when you were drunk and asleep. He watches after you, and with the times were in that's all I can ask for." Cain smiled at me, and I couldn't help but return it.
"Plus, imagine me being able to say my brother-in-law is one of the best pilots in the Resistance." He exclaimed jokingly, my smile faltered.
"Out." I pointed towards the door, a raised eyebrow.
"Ah, come on Dessi. The little Paki-Dameron kids, who do you think they'd take after more? Little warriors or pilots. Or even better both!" He went on teasing me.
"Cain, get the hell out. I need to shower." I rubbed my eyes not needing to be flustered anymore. He stood, making his way.
"Can you name one of them after me?" I looked at him in disbelief.
"Yeah, after you name your and Paige's daughter after me." He raised his hands in defeat, door opened.
"It's a deal." He exclaimed, closing the door before I could argue more. Groaning loudly, I sauntered to the bathroom praying to be left in peace finally.
