Poe Dameron's POV

Walking from the cafeteria, I could feel the small buzz in my head from the intoxication. I was with a couple of the boys from my squadron, before a quick blur of blonde ran by us. Startled, we all stumbled a bit on our feet. Definitely something we didn't expect. My eyes followed the person.

Odessa.

The boys laughed, she was holding a bottle as she ran barefoot. Sighing, I turned to them before taking off muttering an 'I'll see you guys in the morning' chasing after her.

"Yeah, Poe! Go get your girl!" One yelled, I didn't have time to yell at him. All I could do was roll my eyes at his comment. I was slowly catching up, as she was running from something. Taking turns, and running through doors aimlessly. She finally ran up the staircase that lead up to the roof.

Slowing my pace, I stopped to catch my breath. For being drunk, she could definitely run. Finally, I staggered up the stairs. Opening the door to see her sitting with her legs over the edge, sipping on a bottle of wine. Her hair shined in the glow of the moonlight. I would be lying if I said the first time I met her I didn't think she was beautiful.

I approached her resting place as quiet as I could, not to startle her. Odessa was humming lightly before she looked behind her. I gave her a classic grin. Seeing who it was she took another swig of the bottle, before turning around again. Lowering myself besides her. Copying her position.

"What's a pretty girl like you doing all alone up here?" I asked her smoothly, I tried snatching the bottle from her hands, but she moved too quickly pulling it away from me. A child's pout on her face. I could only laugh at this.

"You shouldn't be calling me pretty when you have a girlfriend." She stated, pressing the mouth of the bottle against me. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Girlfriend? I don't have a girlfriend?" I asked, thinking of what rumors could be lurking now. Her eyes widened at my statement,  grabbing the bottle finally her eyes grew larger. I smirked, gloating my victory. Was she jealous? I took a sip from the wine.

"Yeah, the one you left me to go hang out with tonight!" She stated as if she knew everything. I nearly choked on the liquid in my mouth. She began to open her mouth to speak, but I quickly cut her off.

"That's a new recruit for my squadron." I looked at her curiously, "Why? Were you jealous?" I teased her, but I truly wanted to know.

She turned away, looking over the horizon, "And what would I have to be jealous for, Poe Dameron?" she stated strongly. All I could do was laugh at her, I wrapped an arm over her shoulders. Lightly pulling her in.

"It's cold out, you'll catch a cold with your feet being bare." I told her, I could feel her slightly lean into my side before she snapped away looking at me.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa." Odessa pushed my arm off, she snatched the bottle back. "One, you're not my father. Two, you're not my brother. And thirdly, you're definitely not my boyfriend. You don't need to take care of me." She made an attempt to get up, but her body betrayed her.

I watched amused, she huffed giving up. Chuckling, I put my arm back around her.

"Just shut up, and enjoy the moment will you kid." I muttered, she accepted defeat resting her head on my shoulder. I stared at the moon of Q'dar, enjoying its light that it shed on us. This felt nice, and I hoped she felt the same way about this moment in time. I looked down to say something, noticing she had fallen asleep.

Sighing, I stood up. Supporting her body so she wouldn't fall, carefully I picked her up. I began walking to the door, leaving the bottle behind. Slowly I made my way to her room, surprisingly even though it was late. There was no one wandering the halls. Quietly, I hit the bottom sliding the door open.

As smooth as I could, I pulled her blankets off the bed. Before laying her down gently, covering her back up. I turned to walk away and go to my own room. But a hand lightly gripped my own. Looking down she had grasped it.

"Stay." was lightly whispered from her lips, I blinked a couple times. Hesitant of what to do, but my mind was already made up. I slipped my boots off, sliding into the bed next to her. I sat on top of the covers. Odessa sleepily laid an arm around my torso as I sat there. My back resting against the headboard.

Only ten minutes, once she's completely asleep. Go to your room.

I promised myself. Looking down on her, she was peaceful. I began to play with her hair lightly, it was long and soft. It was hard to imagine how this woman, not that long ago was an enemy. How I had been warned to always keep an eye out for a man in a all black suit, with a maroon cape and stripe across his helmet.

But in fact, it wasn't a him. But a her. She was powerful, she was a fighter. But here she was, now an ally of the Resistance. Renouncing the First Order just as Finn had done. She was amazing. To have the past she did, and then to now have the future she does.

And I knew at this moment of serenity, I wanted to be apart of it. I knew ten minutes had passed, I knew that she was in a deep slumber as her breathing had changed. But I didn't bother leaving. I stayed, lost in thought. As my own eyes began to droop, and I met her in a state of sleeping.

Goodnight, Odessa Paki.
