Chapter 12

It had been a few months. School had started and snow was on the ground. It was cold, it was wet, and it was not the ideal weather for Ally. Ally did not like cold. Charles on the other hand made the best of it and tried to enjoy himself. He did like summer and spring more though. People had started to take Christmas decorations down, except for those who went all out. There was only 2 more days until New Years and people had begun to get ready for company. They would clean their garages and go out several times to get drinks and other celebratory items.

Ally blushed when Charles' message came through. She put her phone into her coat pocket and walked out of her room.

Charles closed his massages and began picking out an app to play. His fingers tapped on different apps every 5 to 10 minutes. His boredom began to kick in. There was nothing to do.

3 days passed and it was now Sunday. It was New Years Eve. Ally had church and youth group, she had gotten Charles to go to youth group. After youth group Charles and Ally would be going to their friends house. Zane was Charles' best friend and Karly was Ally's.

Ally and Charles drove themselves to youth group and of course Ally got there first. She sat down on a couch near the entrance and waited for Charles to walk in the door. On the table where snacks sat were donuts and cookies. Ally got up and grabbed one the same time that Karly did.

Karly looked up and smiled, "Oh hey! I didn't even notice you were here yet."

"Oh. Yeah." Ally smiled back. It was always fun to see Karly, even though sometimes she was a little bit obsessive over Zain, she still enjoyed seeing her.

"I'm so excited for tonight!!" Karly changed the subject and excitedly hit Ally's shoulder.

Ally back away and smiled, "it's just New Years."

"Yeah, We get to spend New Years with our boyfriends." Karly said with a little bit of attitude in her voice.

"Well yeah that's pretty exciting. Still you don't have to hit me! I'm sorry but it's not my fault." Ally joked around with Karly.

The two girls turned around to go to the couch that ally had been sitting on. They sat down and both waited for Zain and Charles to get there. All the while they joked around and laughed and had fun.

Charles walked in first, Ally stayed put on the couch and looked down at her phone. She waited for Charles to walk up the steps and see her sitting on the couch with an empty space next to her. She watched from the corner of her eye.

"Hey!" Charles said and moved towards the open space on the couch.

"Hey!" Ally looked up trying to act like she hadn't seen him. She tried not to be too clingy or obsessive but inside her mind it went wild every time she thought about him.

Zain walked in next and glanced over at Karly and smiled. As he turned to go sit at the couch he glanced at Ally and gestures for Karly to come with him.

"Hey guys I'm gonna go hang out with Zain." Karly stood up and walked away when Ally nodded.

Ally felt it was her fault that Karly had walked away. Maybe she wasn't paying enough attention to her and she decided it would be best to leave them alone. Ally shoved her guilt away and focused on how happy she was to be with Charles.
