When Ally got to school she quickly went into her first period class and handed the excuse slip to her teacher. She took a seat next to Charles and looked over at him. He looked over at her with concerned eyes. Ally felt bad and wished she could explain everything right then.

She leaned over and quickly whispered into his ear, "I'm so sorry! I lost track of time last night, then I slept in this morning!"

Charles nodded and they both looked back up at the board.

Not very long after the bell rang and everyone began packing up their things and stood up to leave.

"Did you get a new phone number? My messages won't go through to you." Ally asked as she put her binders back into her bag and zipped it up.

Charles looked up after putting his pencil into the side pocket of his backpack, "No."

"Oh well I don't know what's up with my phone." Ally replied.

"At lunch I'll check it out, okay?" Charles began to walk out the door with Ally by his side.

Ally nodded and they both went their separate ways. Ally waved and Charles waved back.

While Ally walked to her next class she heard someone calling out her name, "Ally! Ally! Oh I'm so glad I caught up with you!" It was Jonny, one of Charles friends, he was a big hotshot and all the girls, even some guy, dreamed of going out with him. Jonny caught up with Ally and kept talking, "I just thought you should know that...well...Charles told me that he didn't really want to go to the dance with you."

Ally stopped right in the middle of the hall, she looked at Jonny with shock, "What?!" Ally said a little louder than she had expected.

"Yeah...he said he was going with someone else..." Jonny said a little nervously.

"You mean...he's cheating on me!?" Ally could feel her face getting red, her eyes were filling up with tears but she held them back and continued talking to Jonny.

"I think so...I'm not completely sure." Jonny said.

Ally just waited for more. She couldn't speak because then the tears would start sliding down her face.

Jonny continued talking, "but you know you can still get back at him. You wanna go to the party with me?"

Ally thought for a moment, what if he was just lying? What if it wasn't true?  She came to the conclusion that Jonny wouldn't do that to his best friend and believed him. She nodded and turned around, instead of going to her second period class, she went to a bathroom, locked the stall door, sat on the ground and started crying.

Jonny, on the other hand,  didn't feel the slightest bit guilty. he couldn't help but grin at his new accomplishment.
