Dear Friend,
So, after Christmas, Lauren and her family left to go to Pennsylvania to go snowboarding with her cousins. Needless to say, I've been pretty lonely without her. We haven't had any type of communication since the place she's staying at has no service. The good news is, she comes home today.
Although Lauren's been gone for the past 5 days, Dinah has been keeping me company. The other night, Dinah stayed at my house. I would have invited Ally and Normani, but they were busy spending time with their own families.
"So Mila, are you gonna finally tell Lauren that you're in love with her when she gets back here?" Dinah asked, seemingly very curious about the topic.
"We'll see," I responded.
"That's what you said over the phone!" Dinah recalled, the answer that I replied with to her and Ally over the phone on Christmas night. That night, I had told them about the mixtape Lauren had given me. Dinah continued, "is there anything stopping you from telling her?"
"I don't know Dinah. I just feel like this is one of those things that could hurt our relationship or make it awkward if she doesn't feel the same way," I said honestly. The truth is, I've been wanting to tell Lauren that I'm in love with her ever since she'd made me the mixtape. After she made me the mixtape, I've come to conclusion with my feelings and figured out that I really am in love with Lauren.
"Are you serious? She had you meet her family, Mila. The crazy thing is you're the first girlfriend she's ever introduced to her parents. You don't just formally introduce someone to your parents unless they're important to you. Looking at her gestures and the things she's done for you, I would say Lauren is in love with you too."
"If she was in love with me, why hasn't she said it yet?" I asked.
"Oh Mila," Dinah replied with a heavy sigh. "Lauren's practically made every move. Maybe she wants you to make the move of saying the L word first this time."
Dinah's got a point. Lauren was the one to first initiate a kiss between us, even though it may or may not have been planned. But Lauren was also the one to ask me to be her girlfriend. All in all, I feel like she's made the most effort in terms of romantic gestures among the two of us. So, I guess it's just right for me to be the one to say 'I love you' first.
My Princess [8:08 pm]: Hey baby, plane just landed in Miami. I can't wait to see your beautiful face. I'll be at your house in about an hour or so.
My Princess [8:10 pm]: Oh yeah, save me a warm kiss when I get there... a tight hug would be greatly appreciated too :)
Me [8:11 pm]: Lauren!!! I miss your green eyes but that's about it... Ok just kidding, I miss all of you. Come here soon plz <3
I couldn't help but smile and feel giddy inside when my phone lit up with Lauren's text messages. I know it's only been about a week, but I miss her. It might be a different story if we could've Skyped or at least texted, but not having any type of interaction killed me inside. I wanted to see my girlfriend, to talk to her, to hug her, and to kiss her.
Lauren told me to savor the songs on the mixtape that she'd made me, to actually listen to a certain song depending on how I'm feeling, but in the times, she was gone, I had managed to play three out of the twelve songs, one that I had already played the day Lauren gave me the CD and the other two which I played while she was gone. First, I played, track 10. Your Favorite Ed Sheeran Song. I played the track with surprise on my face even though I already knew the song that was bound to play, Kiss Me by Ed Sheeran. I mean the track did say, 'Your Favorite Ed Sheeran Song.' The next song was track 8. When You Miss Me. I plugged my headphones in and began to listen to the track, The Man Who Can't Be Moved by The Script. I smiled at the thought of Lauren creating this playlist.
'Cause if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I could be
Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet
And you'll see me waiting for you on the corner of the street.I thought the lyrics were accurate in terms of me waking up and missing Lauren; my mind knowing, but my heart wondering where she is. I listened to the song on repeat until I had finally fallen asleep that night. My thoughts and heart consumed by one girl. I'm just happy I get to see her again today.
"Baby!" Lauren exclaimed as I jumped into her arms and pulled her into a tight hug. She spun me around in circles, kind of like those couples in movies who haven't seen each other in years.
"Lo, I missed you so much," I told the green-eyed beauty as I planted kisses all over her face before finally connecting my lips to hers. The soft and tender lips that had left to go to Pennsylvania was back in my own lips again.
"Slow down, ba-," Lauren tried to make a comment in which I had interrupted, continuing to pull her back into a passionate kiss. "Okay, so you really missed me, huh?" Lauren asked, a small high-pitched laugh exiting her lips.
"Am I that obvious?" I replied, finally letting Lauren put me back on the ground.
"Did you get more beautiful? Something looks different about you, but in a good way," Lauren complimented.
"I don't know. Maybe I'm just really stoked to see you again, to kiss you and stare into your eyes."
"Well..." Lauren paused before continuing, "Maybe..." she whispered into my ear, planting soft kisses on my neck and working her way up to my jaw, "a few days apart isn't so bad..." Lauren said. The girl taking me by surprise with her actions as she grabbed my left backside and passionately kissed my lips before coming into a stop to utter a sentence, "Maybe, the few days apart we had really shown how much we can't physically and mentally be away from each other for long." Lauren once again pulled me into a deep kiss before we were interrupted.
"What the hell?" Dinah interrupted as she made her way into my house, startling both Lauren and me.
"Dinah! I thought you weren't coming for another twenty minutes!"
"Hey, Dinah," Lauren said smilingly.
"Hi Lauren," Dinah said, "I wasn't, but Normani and Ally said we should go to the party now or we won't find any parking spots. I literally texted you two like ten times, but I guess y'all were busy doing something else."
"No, we were just catching up," I told Dinah, feeling guilty at what she had just witnessed.
"Okay well then, let's go!" Dinah exclaimed.
We left the house with my lips still tingling from Lauren's lips. I don't know what had just happened. Lauren was acting differently; she was acting rather seductive. I mean yeah Lauren and I have kissed plenty of times before, but nothing like the kiss we just had. Our kisses are usually gentle and passionate, but this time it was aggressive and deep. I'm not complaining though, if this is the effect that Pennsylvania has on Lauren then maybe I should go plan a trip with her there next time!
