Ran Away... (Complete)

Chapter three : New bosses

(A/N: just to not be confused this chapter happens while Angelica and Mr John Grimm were talking)

Adam P.O.V :

I woke up from my sleep with the sun rays hitting my face , I should have closed the curtains before I sleep , but by a taking another closer look there's no curtains .

"Great" I sighed as I stood up from the couch I was laying on .

Now with the sun light in the room I could see it more clearly , in the middle of the room there is the couch I slept on yesterday with two armchairs on it's sides and a big dusty rug connecting them all with each others , wooden walls and floor and everything is covered with dust that I can't see the color of the furniture , there was two doors behind the couch , I approached one of them it was the kitchen it was a rectangular shape and cabinets along the whole kitchen , the othrr door was the bathroom , bathtub in the face of the door a sink beside it and the toilet in front of the sink .

I got out of the bathroom and found a stairs "Wow this place has a second floor" I said to myself as I was going upstairs , it was a bedroom covered with dust as well "At least I won't be sleeping on the couch forever" I thought .

(A/N: I imagined this room as Hiccup's bedroom in How to train your dragon)

"This place need to be cleaned" I said as heading downstairs , I took the money I brought with me and headed towards the door , I need to go shopping .

I got out of the cottage and headed towards the market , not because it's not my country that I wouldn't know my way I came here a lot in the past and let's just don't ask why , any way on my way I heard some voices I hid behind a tree and looked carefully at who it was , three merchants with their goods , I thought for a second then headed towards them .

I coughed as I approached them to announce my presence , they stopped their talk and now their attention was on me .

"How can we help you?" Asked one of them .

"I was heading towards the market and I kindda of lost my way can you tell me the way ?" I lied I didn't want to walk alone , walking with them will be better .

"We were on our way to go there , you can come with us if you want to" one of them suggested .

"I'd love to , thank you for your offer" I said politely .

"Well come on then , what are we waiting for?" shouted the third one and we started to walk .

They were talking about their work and how it's not going very well because of the war , I just listened to them .

"Hey young man , we haven't know your name yet"

"Adam sir , my name is Adam"

"Well I am Alonso and this is Mark and the other one is Robert" he said pointing to each one of them , Alonso had a blond hair and emerald green eyes , Mark had a brown hair and hazel eyes , Robert was ginger with green eyes , they all had some white hair , they all looked at the same age late 50s early 60s .

"Are you related?" I asked .

"No , we're just very good friends" answered Alonso .

"Yea , childhood friends" declared Robert .

"So , what's your job Adam" asked Mark , of all the questions he had to ask this one .

" I... a...um..." I said not knowing what to say .

"Don't you know what's your job ?" asked Mark with raising an eyebrow .

"Well actually I still don't know" I answered

"And how's that" Alonso asked .

"I...I was a soldier , but I quited"

"Why ? I know that they pay well" asked Robert .

"I didn't quit because of the money...I just can't live like that anymore" I said , hoping that they don't ask any other questions .

"And with who do you live ?" asked Alonso .

"With my own...my parents dead years ago" I said , and with that they stopped asking their questions .

"Did you hear what happen to Albert ?" said Robert , I think it's a new gossip .

"No , what happened to him ?" answered Mark with interest .

"His son , daughter in law , and his grandchildren died"

"Oh shut up please , how the hell would he knew something like that , he didn't talk to his son for years , he didn't even see his grandchildren or know their names , I assume that they think that their grandfather is dead " argued Alonso .

"No , he was the one who told me that .....he told his son to come back and live with him after he kicked him out of the house years ago" defended Robert .

"Why would someone kick his own son out of his house" I asked in amazement .

"Because he married against his will....you know Albert was a soldier in the past before he became a merchant , and his son loved a girl from the other kingdom , his father really didn't like it , anyone from the other kingdom even if he was a toddler he assumed him as an enemy , but when his son insisted on marrying her he told him to leave and never return , so he emigrated to the other kingdom and married the girl he loved and lived there" explained Alonso .

"That's ridiculous" I said after listening to that silly story " How could someone bear not talking to his son , his own flesh and blood for years" I continued .

"You're right young man , I can't bear one day without my daughter"said Mark .

We walked in silence for a while till Alonso broke the silence .

"So Adam , how are you gonna live?"

"What do you mean ?"

"I mean , you sure have some savings , but after you ran out of money how are you gonna live ?" he clarified .

"I...uh....I didn't think about that yet" I answered , that was a good questions , I didn't think about that , I didn't bring much money , how am I gonna live , I must find a job .

They all looked at each other and nodded Alonso then cleared his throat and started to talk "Why don't you work with us ?"

"I'd love to , but I don't know anything about trading"

"Oh don't worry about that , you won't be a trader , you'll help us" said Mark

"How ?"

"Look as you see we're old men , we can't just go here and there as we used to do in the past , sometimes we need someone to help us to go and preview the goods , sometimes to deliver an order , you'll have different tasks to do , and don't worry we will pay you well" explained Robert .

"Ha then what do you say ?" asked Alonso enthusiastically .

"Well..I think that I have a new bosses" I answered and could see the happiness and satisfaction in their eyes .
