Chapter twenty five : Coma

Angelica P.O.V :

I heard noise beside me , I tried to open my eyes but couldn't , I tried to move my arm but I only could feel my fingers move , I tried to open my eyes once again but failed , the noise beside me were getting louder , I heard footsteps and movement beside me then it was compeletly silence .

I tried to open my eyes , I did it , first everything was white then I started to see more clearly , there were staff of doctors surrounding me , behind them stood familiar face , anxiety mixed with pleasure was drawn on there faces .

"A...am I de...dead" was the first thing that came in my mind .

"No you're not dead , you were just in a coma" answered one of the doctors who were examining me .

"For how long ?"

"Seven day"

"I slept for too long"

"It's a miracle that you're still alive , you've lost a lot of blood , you were lucky that the knife wasn't stabbed in a dangerous place"

"So I am still alive and was in a coma for seven days , I got it right ?"

"Yes your highness , you will just need to rest for sometime , and now we finished our work here , if you excuse us"

"You may go" answered Parker and they left the room .

"Where am I ?"

"In our palace" answered Adam .

"What happened ? The last thing I remember is Pete stabbing me"

"Not much actually , Jacoub is dead and Pete escaped" said Hansel casually .

I shot up from the bed but Gretel made me sleep down again "You need to rest , you heard the doctor it was a miracle you are still alive"

"How did king Jacoub die ?"

"Pete slit his throat" said Hansel.

"Do you know where did he go?" I asked .

"No , and he didn't return back to the kingdom , no one know where he is and what he is doing , but what I am certain of is that he is up to no good" answered Parker .

"Any plans ?" I asked .

"Not yet , we were worried sick about you that we didn't have think of any thing" answered Gretel .

"Where is Maria ?"

"In her room" answered Parker "she's been ill since she saw our father's corpse , she couldn't bear that much blood" he explain .

"We need to get ready , Pete might attack at any moment" said Hansel .

"Our armies are ready , we are just waiting for him to show up" answered Parker .

"We need to search for him not wait for him to show up" I said standing from the bed and shoving Gretel's hands from me "we need to act fast , Pete is very smart and cunning , we need to be unpredictable"

"Angelica you need to rest" said Gretel trying to pull me again to bed but I pushed her hands away .

"No" I snapped at her "no more rest , we need to do what must be done"

"And what is it ?" asked Hansel

"Assassinate Pete"

"You sure you want to kill him not imprison him ?" asked Parker .

"Yes , he must die and I want to do it  myself" I turned towards Hansel "you said he didn't return home , did he ?"

"He didn't , but this is a bad idea and I won't let you do it" he exclaimed .

"Oh no you're not" cried Gretel .

"Someone care to explain please ?" cried Parker .

"She wants to return home" answered Gretel .

"Moments ago you said that we have to be unpredictable , and now you are walking to his trap" cried Gretel .

"Oh she is doing the thing that he wants her to do , in my whole life that's the most unpredictable thing I have ever seen" mocked Hansel .

"She didn't even say that she want to return back home so what this fuss about" cried Adam .

"Um guys , I got some bad news" said Parker .

"There is nothing worse than what we are in now , so spill the milk" said Hansel .

"Actually there is , today's morning I got some news about Oelandia" said Parker .

"What happened ?" I asked .

"Um well you know that there is no one now to rule it things got out of control , everyone is doing what he wants even if it's against the law , I thought about sending a force there to control it but then I thought that it would be a bad idea , you know its the perfect timing for you to wake up again , your kingdom needs you , and I think it's a good idea to go back and rule it , the throne is yours after all and no one can say anything" explained Parker .

"What if Pete is hiding in there and waiting for her to return and kill her" cried Gretel .

"Angelica there is no way you're returning back , and Gretel and I will stop you even if it means to imprison you , we are doing this for your own good" said Hansel .

"I already thought about that" said Parker "she will go with a force to protect her , and of course I know you won't leave her alone and the two of you can protect her better than any force could , she would be totally safe and protected and when you return back start with the army and I am sure that their loyalty will be to you , they didn't like Pete or his way in controlling them , Pete's philosophy was it's better to fear you than love you , and I know that you won't be like that , they loved your father and they loves you , its the only way to save your kingdom"

"I will go" I said standing up "prepare yourselves if you want to come" I said to Hansel and Gretel .

"But Angelica...." started Gretel but I gestured for her to shut up .

"No buts , I am going and that's my final decision , if you want to come prepare yourselves but if you don't then don't delay me and no more word" right now it wasn't Angelica their friend who was talking it was queen Angelica the queen of Oelandia and Oelandia's only hope .

"We will your Highness" they said in union with a bow .

"Good" I said with blank expression on my face , I turned to Parker who had a confused look on his face from the sudden change of attitude "When will the force be ready ?" I asked him

"Anytime you want"

"We are moving now"

"NOW ?" cried Hansel and Gretel .

"Any problem with that ?" I said without looking at them .

"No your Highness" without looking at them I knew that they were already bowing .

"Good now let's go"
