When I saw them from a distance I felt adrenaline rush through my whole body ,I turned around and began to run .I ran and ran and ran as my life is about to end cause it was .
"Hey there " I heard a male voice shouting from a distance , but I didn't...
After the meeting end and we were dismissed , I went to check up on Angelica as I didn't visit her today , I knocked at the door several times but she didn't answer , I was starting to get worried , I opened the door and got inside her room but she wasn't there , I went to the terrace to see if anything out of usual happening and I found her getting back to the stables , what was she doing out there she nearly could walk , she didn't even have a horse to bring it back to the stables .
"The secret passage" I whispered to myself , I rushed out of the room towards the prison cell , approaching his cell , no one was there , she helped him to escape , I ran back towards her room , she didn't get her yet , her knee must be slowing her down , I sat down on one of the armchairs , put my head in my hands and waited for her .
I heard the door opened and she getting inside , immediately I stood up .
"Finally back again , I can't bear another minute standing" she said as she closed the door and enter her room.
"Then why did you leave in the first place ?" I asked as calm as could , and she just froze in her place with her back to me "ANSWER ME , WHY DID YOU LEAVE ?" I couldn't control it anymore , but she still standing with her back to me .
I went towards her and turned her around so that she now is facing me "WHY...?"
"Wh..wh..why what ?" that was all she managed to say .
"Angelica don't play stupid" I warned "why did you help him to escape , you betrayed us , me your father , your mother , you betrayed all the kingdom by helping and enemy"
"I did that because I have to"
"Really why ?"
"Because he is innocent , he didn't kidnapped me , I escaped" my eyes widen at her words .
"You escaped...but why ?"
"Because I had enough of all of this , of the war , killing , and blood , I saw my two siblings and my uncle killed , I couldn't do anything to help them , innocent people die every day and got tortured from the two kingdoms just for being from the other kingdom that makes them enemies and should be killed , never thinking if that man or woman who is being killed has a family and children" she yelled at me laying on the wall for support to be able to stand up "Don't you see Pete , that what war do , children are orphaned , women are widowed and innocent men are tortured , and that's exactly what you did to Adam , you tortured him for something he didn't do , his father did but he didn't , you shouldn't take the son with the father guilt , he only helped me there in the woods , he tried to warn me from the cliff but I didn't listen , when I feel over the cliff he saved me from the wild animals that could have eaten me alive" with that she couldn't stand more and fell on the ground , I went to help her but she raised her arm and stopped me , she helped herself to stand up and limped towards her bed and sat on it .
"But if you escaped , how come we found your necklace broken and on the floor ?"
"When I decided to ran away I remember the necklace and as it was the family symbol and as I decided to no longer be a part of this family I took it off , but instead of taking it gentle I broke it" she explained .
I have heard enough , I went out of the room and went out to have a walk , I need to think about everything in my life again .
Adam P.O.V :
I followed the route that Angelica described , it was nearly midnight the only source of light was the moon , the whole way back to home I was thinking about the past weeks , how I escaped , and worked for the traders for nearly a month , and how I was so close to death and saved by the one who put me in that situation earlier , and the most important thing how I meet her in the first place and how we danced under the stars in the garden .
I could see light from a distance , good now I am going back to the place I escaped from weeks ago , it started to rain minutes later the rain was heavier , thunder was heard , lightening was seen , the horse got scared and stood on it's back legs which made me feel on the ground my bow and arrows fell down beside me , another thunder was heard but it was stronger that time the horse turned around and started to run , now I was left alone in the rain with my injured and bruised body .
"Let's look at the positive part , at least I am close to my kingdom" I said to myself as I stood up grabbing my bow and arrows and started to walk .
I finally after along walk arrived at the kingdom gates , I don't think anyone would know me with that bruised bloody face and black eye , I could hear a familiar voice my eyes widen with hope when I heard his sound , my brother's sound , I looked at the direction of the sound .
Suddenly I was pushed towards a tree and a sword was on my neck "who are you and what are you doing here ?" from his clothes I could see that he was one of Parker personal guards .
"Cool your guts , and show some respect to your prince" I said as moving his hands but he didn't move it , he put the sword closer to my neck .
"What's going on here ?" Parker , my brother , finally came , and the guard moved his sword from my neck .
"Your highness , this man here assume he is the prince" the guard said pointing at me .
Parker's gaze turned on me , when our eyes met we stared at each other for a while , he descended from his horse not breaking eye contact with me , he came closer to me and pulled me to a hug ,"oh brother is that really you , I can't believe my eyes that you're still alive , we thought that Pete killed you"
I pulled away from his hug and looked at him "how do yo.........AHHHHH" I suddenly shouted putting a hand on my chest and the other on my stomach , my legs are trembling and I can no longer stand on them .
"Are you okay Adam ?" Parker said as helping me to stand up , that was the last thing I heard then everything turned black .
