Chapter eighteen : I will help you

Angelica P.O.V :

"Are we there yet ?" I asked exhausted .

"Not yet but we are so close to their kingdom , one more hour" said Hansel .

"Wait" Gretel whispered to us and we stopped moving .

"What's wrong ?" Hansel asked her .

"Horses" I answered .

"Where would you like to go and hunt today your highness ?" we heard someone say , probably one of the prince's guards .

I mouthed 'I told you' to them and they rolled there eyes at me knowing that I was right .

"Now what genius" Hansel asked me .

"I have to go and talk with Adam , I am sure he will help us" I told them standing up from my knee but Gretel pulled me down again .

"Are you crazy ? We don't even know if this is Adam or his brother , or worse his father"

"We won't know until we go" I said .

"Look this is not a game , let me go first and see if it's safe or not" said Hansel .

"Of course not you stupid , they are more than us , they will beat and kill us in a second" I said to him .

"She is right Hansel , we must wait and think properly" agreed Gretel .

"Fine , any suggestions ?" He asked .

"I have one , you have to trust me" I said .

"Fine what is it ?" said Hansel rolling his eyes .

"I won't tell you , I will show you" I said to them as I stood up .

I looked around the place to see where is 'his highness' that the guard was talking to , I scanned the place several times till I saw Adams bow , but it wasn't Adam who was holding it , I think it's his brother , but surely not his father , because he was a young man , I watched him till he was nearly alone , his guards were standing steps behind him , but if I talked to him through these bushes they won't see me .

He turned around with his horse and was about to leave when I throw a stone to gain his attention , I was cautious about the guards and made sure that no one would see except for the prince , he stopped his horse then descended from it .

"Your highness where are you going ?" one of the guards ask .

"Move my leg a little , and alone , I need to be alone for a moment , I won't be away , just stay here and don't move , am I clear ?" he ordered his guards and they nodded .

He moved through the bushes and walk towards me , he didn't see me but I was watching him until he stepped where I want him to be , away from the guards eyes .

"Psst , over here" I whispered for him and he saw me , for my surprise he didn't get out his sword or any other weapon .

"Who are you ?" He asked .

I moved the hood of the cloak from my head and showed him my face , his eyes widen when he saw me , how did he know me while I never saw him before "Princess Angelica ? What are you doing here ? If my father found that you're here he would kill you at once for what happened to Adam"

"Look I can't stay in my kingdom anymore , it's not safe for me" I explained .

"Why ? What happened ?"

"Long story , and I can't tell you here and now , we need a place to hide so no one would see us from the two kingdoms can you help me ?"

"I will , look I will take the guards and go now , you and whoever is with you wait for me over there , I will be back at night , and don't worry no one ever go to that spot , you will be safe" he explained .

"Thank you" I mouthed him as he was walking back but still facing me , then he went to his guards and told them to go , after they disappeared I went back to Hansel and Gretel and took them to the place that the prince told me to go .

"I don't know why we would trust him and how , he is our enemy , we should be fighting him not asking for his help" Hansel complained .

"Do we have any other options , we aren't in a situation to choose , we have no other place to go" I reasoned him , but he gave me a disapproval look .

"She is right Hansel , we don't have any other place to go to , he is our only option" said Gretel and I could see sadness in her eyes .

"So no what ?" he asked .

"We wait till night , he told me he would come back when it's night" I told him .

"What if he came back with guards and put us in prison ?" he said .

"For me to die on the enemy's hands better to die on a family's hand" I said looking away from his to not see the misery in my eyes , with that he finally shut up .

"What are you doing ?" I heard Gretel saying after a while .

"Fire" he answered .

I turned back looking at them "what if someone saw the smoke , they would come and see us , and then who knows what will happen" I told him .

"There's no more sun it's night and I am freezing , you too , both of you are freezing , I don't think that he will come back" he argued .

"Think twice" someone said from behind me , I turned around and found it was Adam's brother "sorry I am late but I had to make sure that no one is following me"

I looked at Hansel and mouthed 'I told you' to him and I smiled victory and he gave me a death glare .

"what now ?" Gretel broke the short silence .

"I will take you with me" he answered her making eye contact directly with her .

"Where ?" Hansel asked him .

"To the castle" he said still making eye contact with Gretel .

"I TOLD YOU HE WANT TO IMPRISON US" Hansel shouted pointing at him .

"Cool your guts , don't worry there are secret passages that we will get into the castle through , no one would see you , and I told the princess that I will help you and keep you safe" he explained .

"I don't trust you" said Hansel .

The prince was about to talk but I talked first "but I do , I trust you with my life" I said giving Hansel a shut up look and he did .

"Come on this way" he said turning around but Gretel stopped us .

"Wait"

He turned around facing us again raising an eyebrow .

"What about your father ?" she asked him .

"Don't worry , he's not home" he assured us , and we started to walk .

After a long walk in the secret passages of his castle , a silent walk , we finally reached a door .

"We are here" he announced opening the door .
