For four months, it was staying low and not going any higher in the world. Kevin and Annabelle had been camping in motels and burger joints for what seemed like forever. No hunts, and no seeing anyone but themselves and the other person. To say that they were sick of each other's company was an understatement. But they got used to it.
The odd thing was, they seemed more protective of each other. Neither had really grown feelings for the other, yet they didn't want to see the other person get hurt. Annabelle had a couple of times on their little expedition that made Kevin mad. So mad that he wouldn't talk to her for weeks straight.
Kevin, though, made mistakes too. He had been driving, not really knowing where he was going, but almost lead them straight to danger. Danger also known as Crowley's head quarters. Annabelle had quickly realized the destination and took over driving for a little while. So they had been heading around the country, to almost every state trying to stay hidden.
Today, Kevin wanted to reach beyond the comfort zone. He wanted to go visit his girlfriend's college. Obviously, the conversation didn't end well.
"It's a no!" Annabelle exclaimed. "Wait hold on," she said holding her hand up. The voicemail she was going to leave for Sam was obviously going to be just a check in. "Hey, Winchester, glad to hear the familiar beep again. It's been two months so-"
"It's just for a couple of hours-"
"I know how far Centreville is," Annabelle said cutting Kevin off. "Anyways, you know the usual. Give me a call if you're alive." Annabelle ended the call, then threw the phone in the back seat.
"We haven't stopped anywhere for more than two days in the past month and I'm getting sick of this car!" Kevin yelled. He was getting quite aggravated with Annabelle and all the rules she was making, but deep down he knew she was right. Annabelle took a moment to dwell on the idea, then sighed.
"Okay, we can go to the campus, you can look at her but direct conversation isn't allowed," Annabelle said leaning back. She rolled her left shoulder, then looked over at Kevin who was nodding slowly. "And you have to not be recognizable."
"Fine," he said looking out the passenger window. Annabelle glanced over at him again, then sighed, getting off to turn the other way. Which is where his girlfriend was. The university at least. There was silence until Kevin spoke up again, "Thank you." Annabelle nodded, not looking over this time.
"Yeah," she muttered, "you're welcome."

Annabelle pulled the hood over her head, the hat covering her face. She began looking around for the petite Asian girl that Kevin described. She had already dug into files and figured out her dorm. She was going to check for sulfur residue, or any supernatural presence. Upon spotting Channing, she nudged Kevin's shoulder.
"Hey, ten o'clock." Kevin snapped his head to the left, finding Channing immediately. Annabelle began walking forward, Kevin following.
"What are you going to do?" Kevin asked making Annabelle sigh.
"Probably the stupidest thing I can do. Check her dorm for sulfur. Then we can go. So, you can stalk your gal-pal for a little while, rendezvous back here at two?" Annabelle asked. Kevin checked his watch, then nodded.
"Yeah, that sounds good," he said. Annabelle nodded, removing the hood. She pulled her hair in front of her, then walked to the dorm quickly. Of course she had looked like any other college girl, yet she was a hunter. No where close to a student.
She made her way to the floor that Channing's dorm resided on, and quickly glanced through the hallway to see if anyone was following. She then turned and walked to the door, bending down to find the yellow dust that was so familiar. She sighed, standing up and looking over at the security camera.
"Well, shit," she muttered. She began walking quickly towards the elevator, only to see if open with Channing walking out. Annabelle improvised, and whipped her phone out turning away. She began texting Kevin, telling him to meet her a little early.
She came back to her room. Meet you outside in ten minutes.
She sent the text, walking down the hallway quickly. Her heart pounded as she heard Channing's foot steps behind her. Annabelle reached up into her sleeve, ready to stab her if she needed to. Then the footsteps stopped, making Annabelle glance behind her to see Channing at her dorm. She unlocked the door, then walked inside. Annabelle sighed, walking to the stairs faster.
Once she opened the door, she let out a breath that she didn't realize she had been holding. She glanced back through the glass, then turned, running down the stairs to the next floor to take the elevator there.

"So there was sulfur?" Kevin asked sounding disappointed.
"Yeah, a lot more than there should be. There's probably more in the room," Annabelle said shoving her hands in her pockets. She looked at Kevin to see the sad look on his face. Her heart broke a tiny bit, and she grabbed his arm to stop him. She could see the hurt in his eyes, and frowned.
"This is my fault," Kevin started, making Annabelle shake her head and look down.
"It's not, you can't tell yourself that," she said. He looked at the ground, not wanting to move from his spot. He really wanted to have his normal life back. "Kevin." He looked at Annabelle, not sure what to think. "It's. Not. Your. Fault." He shook his head, beginning to walk away again. "Did you ask to be brought into this?" Annabelle asked still following him.
"No! And I want to be out of it!" Kevin yelled, causing several people to look over. They quickly looked away again, letting the conversation go on. "I want this to end. I want to see my mom, I want to have a life. I want to be out of this supernatural crap."
"Believe me, I understand you more than anyone. I want so badly for this to end but somehow I keep finding myself in this for no reason. Now, I'm too deep to get out. But I could help you if you just let me." Annabelle realized now that she had grabbed his arms, trying to get him to listen. "Just let me help." Kevin nodded, finally making eye contact.
"Okay, okay, then let's go."
